That will never ever work, you see in real life, I am an Ego Maniac with an Inferiority complex.

Hey, I'll just drive the civic with my arm and Plantona hanging out the window --problem solved...... NOT

I was going to suggest that you save up $130,000, then buy Honda Accord and spend the rest on watches.

I have a bowling friend that has a Ferrari and just bought a new Corvette with 650HP (I haven't taken a close look at it yet, so I don't know the model), but he wears a $200 watch.

I guess we all have priorities.

I was gonna guess S class also for $130k lol

Only problem keeping the SL is it will continue to bleed money and be worth less each month, but only if you sell it.

That's a 2015+ Z06.

To the OP,
Of course the watch holds value better as opposed to a new car. You just realized how much cars depreciate?

Side note - you can find a 2015 Z06 that was 110k new in 2015 for 78-83k with under 5000 miles. That's half a Platona in 3k miles.

If you have this much money to worry about then I think you know how to make this decision. Don't ask us.

I am in the car business, own 9 franchises, two being the Land Rover and Porsche franchises. The market for high end exotic cars will always be the same, they drop in value a rediculous amount instantly. You can keep both vices if you just buy super late model exotics with extremely low miles...a one year old exotic with less than 5000 miles will save you $40K (just a estimate based on what you said you paid for your last car) make sure you find a one owner local car also, exotics that are taken in on trade at a non exotic store such as a ford store are your best value but they dont tend to keep them and wholesale them instantly bc they are scared of that car dropping and sitting on them so dont be scared of a high end luxury used car store that stocks these low mileage vehicles, this is where they pick up their inventory, just check vehicle history reports and stay to super low miles and a year or 2 old(cars that haven't even needed to be serviced yet). Some people are just new car buyers but looks for cars an owner drove or something similar, for instance I wont put more than 1500 miles on a 911 or an autobiography big body range before getting out of them. One day I may be driving a 911 and the next a chevy...

I don't understand how one goes from a Ferrari to a Mercedes? Isn't that a major downgrade? Whatever makes you happy is the answer either way. AM.

I keep my cars so it's a no brainer for me. I'd take the free Platona.

These are my 2 favorite makes right now. I have a 2012 Range Rover Sport I bought 2 years ago CPO. Had a few 911's over the years. How much is the TRF discount at your dealerships?

I tried to do that, but the old car Idea wore on me, and I worried about my wife getting into an accident due to old brakes, or loose suspension components, and I wanted all of us to have some fun while grinding it to work everyday, so I made a few compromises...

Mention you are at one of my stores via the TRF and we can come up with a special deal...I am probably the only dealer in the country that will trade a rolex towards the purchase of a car, only rolex bc i "think" i know the values

Not at all. ..Ferrari was a 2003 and 2 generations old...430s and 458s were out when I sold. ..then I was brainwashed by all the ferrari guys not to drive more than 2000 miles a year or it tanks. .the SL is hands down best car I ever had...429 horses and 518 pounds of torque... twin turbo.....

Here is how my simple plan works.
I was shopping for a new car this weekend, as my current car is just over 3 years old. I was thinking, do I really need a new car when the one I have has only 19,000 miles on it? I still love it and really no reason other than I usually get a new car every 2 or 3 years.
But here are the true numbers on my current car.
Paid over $130,000 in 2013 including taxes. I do not lease nor take any notes out on cars.
Car would book out today at maybe $60,000, and more like $55,000, costing me roughly 65,000 in depreciation. Damn, 65,000 would of bought a Platona and even maybe a new D-sea as well.
So it kind of makes sense not to make this mistake over and over again, and just enjoy a nice car for 5 or 6 years.

Does this seem to make sense, cause it does to me.

Bottom line for me, maybe keep cars a bit longer and enjoy more watches for free.
Simple solution, it is called Leasing while buying down the money factor with multiple security deposits. As an example I have an 82k BMW 550i 2016, I paid nothing down, and pay $800 bucks a month for 3 years... I gave them 6k up front as multiple security deposits which save me about 10% a month on a my payment and I get the money back at the end of the lease. Where else can you make 10% interest that easy. No maintenance, no hassle, and way less depreciation because of the low money factor, and I don't care about the residual value cause I will get a new car in 3 years :) I reckon on your Benz you would have spent less than the depreciation you have encountered...and had more money for the watch!
