New guy just joined today

Hello guys and girls.

Just joined today and looking forward to learning more about Rolex and its intricacies. I have been active at the WUS forums mostly.

My one and only Rolex is a 116000 which I purchased direct from a dealer last year. To be honest I am looking upgrade to either a Yachtmaster I or an Explorer II polar white 40mm which is my sweet spot.

Steep learning curve for Rolex but will manage.

Thanks for reading.

Regards.

Steep learning curve, but a slippery slope once you have one and hang around here...you'll soon have both the YM and the Exp II...

We don't use the term "upgrade" here. Rolex makes watches for everyone, some cost more than others, but a 116000 is fantastic and a favorite of mine. Different watches for different purposes, no one rolex is better than the other. I've worn DJs, Subs, OPs, GMTs in steel, gold, and in between, vintage and new. They're all fantastic machines, so if you leave any sense of oneupmanship behind, you'll have a far better experience in the hobby. Welcome aboard!

Welcome. Your planned new purchases are nice but I wouldn't consider them upgrades just different. There's absolutely nothing wrong with your 116000. I love it. The simplicity of design combined with a traditional dial gives it a classic look and flies wonderfully under the radar.
