One More?

I recently added a GMT to the small collection (old DayDate, Datejust, and some Pateks). The combination of the blue and black really sold me on that watch along with the dual time zone. I liked the Submariner, but chose the GMT.

Now, I want to add the Sub with the black ceramic bezel.

These two watches look a lot alike. I'm concerned they are redundant and I should consider another watch or just forget it for now.

I think a black sub and a GMT BLNR can both be in the same collection. Especially if you do the No Date sub. The polished center links and the blue of the bezel make the BLNR look really different than the sub to me. Maybe consider the hulk sub if you really wanted them to be very different.

Not redundant. But there's the Sub No Date... no cyclops so it looks different than the GMT. Plus the all black bezel is not at all like the GMT you have. Still similar but even more distinct than the Subc Date is the Sea Dweller.

I consider the GMT ceramic dressier - go for one of the subs as they are different enough from the GMTs to me.

Yep Sub 114060 or Bluesy would make for a different watch in my books!

I do think the Sub is additive and not too redundant. I'm too conservative for the green Sub.

There you go. And I'd agree...I have both the BLNR and a Sea Dweller.

BLNR is currently on a brushed bracelet as well, so I don't have the PCL factor to distinguish them but I still find days where I prefer one over the other or know I would use their respective functions.

I can see your point. After all, the Sub, GMT, YM, ExpII and SD all have identical style dials. I like all those watches, but I would look for something different like maybe the new Explorer or a Milgauss. If you want a diver, there (heresy) ARE other brands. I have the Omega Seamaster 300 master coaxial which I love. A true heritage diver that looks nothing like a Sub.

But that's just me.

I see your point, the dials, the cases and the bezels are similar, close enough upon a glance. But if you like it, if you feel the Sub fills a niche in your collection, that you will wear it enough, go ahead.

Probably Sub ND or just sell BLNR and buy black bezel GMT

They are very different in appearance and how they wear on the wrist. It's probably the perfect combo for me. The blue on the BLNR changes drastically when in different lighting. The sub is heavier and more rugged IMO and definately does not draw as much attention. I'll gladly add some more photos if you would like. Sorry for the sideways iPhone pics.
