Nice watch with clean dial. Love it. I am into the simple and classic watch also. Have you tried the 6694? I think you will be equally happy with the 6694.

"Best value" and "Rolex" cannot go in the same sentence. Nonetheless, nice looking watch :)

I don't agree, if we're talking the world of watches, anyway. There is no brand that retains its value better. I never buy/collect for investment purposes, but if you're smart about it as a hobbyist, you can usually at least break even, and if you're a good dealer, you can actually make a living at it.

Rolex are among the best value watches money can buy especially desired pristine discontinued models' examples or hard to get current models such as the BLNR and LV or the DSSD Deep Blue (not to mention Daytona C). Hold for 2-3 years and you shall get more than what you paid for. Hold for more and you may get much higher returns (even after a service has taken place).
I am not investing in watches but it is good to know that owning a Rolex is not detrimental to your finances in the sense that you can liquidate fast enough (OK let us say some times with a profit as long as you do not flip like mad) plus you get the enjoyment of wearing those beauties.

No disrespect, yannis7777, but your phrase "it is good to know that owning a Rolex is not detrimental to your finances" did make me laugh. I can't think of anything, other than marriage, that has been as detrimental to my finances as my enthusiasm for watches, many of them Rolex. Maybe for smarter folks....

Next thing I am going to hear is that buying Rolex watches is an investment...

All those arguments, at best, would suggest that buying a Rolex may not be as "bad value" as buying some other luxury watches, but certainly this is far from Rolex being a "best value" watch.

How can spending a few (at least) thousand dollars to keep track of time (and relatively inaccurately, for that matter) be associated with any kind of "best value" etc. ?!

Marriage is in a league of its own
As i have said it is not detrimental as in the event you decide to liquidate you will get your money back
I do not claim it is an investment either but still it is one of the few luxurious goods that in the medium to long term do appreciate in value.

I've never worn a watch to tell the time with. That's a secondary function that is better served by other devices. Some people may say, "Then why do you wear a watch?" If you have to ask...
