Personally I recommend either a 16700 or the 16710 , as you can swop & change inserts to suit & also the jubilee bracelet gives it a great look & a nice option to have . But I would definitely give the BLNR a go on the wrist to see which you prefer , as PCLs are not for everyone but the glide lock is sublime . But you can't go wrong with whichever you choose .

Personally I'd go BLNR...I believe it was Rolex's first bicolor ceramic bezel for what that's worth value and collectability wise.

BLNR was my choice. But when people talk about it’s collectibility wouldn’t it only be collectible if they discontinued it rather soon? If they keep manufacturing it for years to come, how is it collectible? Personally I hope the discontinue it for a SS Pepsi or coke ceramic. Then it will be collectible!

Such a hard one.
Personally I own a BLNR and a year 2000 Pepsi. Both pristine full sets. If I had to sell one now I have no idea what one I could part with as I absolutely love them both. The BLNR feels much more substantial and has a bit more bling. However I just love putting the Pepsi on as it feels a bit lighter and thinner and just oozes charm. For a less risky purchase, a BLNR from an AD is a simpler option if you can find one. The older Pepsi can be harder to find a pristine model with full set, and you have to watch for aftermarket parts etc.buying older has more pitfalls. Both make me smile and I wish you good luck in your decision....it’s a really tough one. |

I am to collect my BLNR on Monday from an AD - then its the dilemma to keep it or trade for the Pepsi and I cannot afford both. Boy never thought this would be so difficult. Still I guess forum members are right they are both amazing, but go for the one that excites you most, but if it's the Pepsi - get the best and full set. I think that's the answer.

The BLNR gets my vote. I don't like 5-digit GMT.

I've come to this forum looking for advice on buying a 1675/0 pepsi so that's the one for me!
I own a DSSD and tried a Batman on in 2014 and it felt so small compared to the DSSD that I couldn't do it. Back then the USD was worth less than the AUD (I live in Australia) and I could've had a right bargain! I see waiting lists now and realise how silly it was not to buy it when it was on my wrist :( |

All about personal preference. For me I prefer the upgrades of the modern GMTs.
I had a 16710 coke purchased new in 1997 but it wasn’t getting any wrist time after adding a couple of ceramic bezel watches so I let it go and part funded my LVc with the proceeds. No regrets for me |

go for a new blnr, it will be cheaper, you know its all original, you know it hasn't been polished, you are in no doubt its genuine ,incl box and papers, and you get the 5 year warranty, plus its never been worn, and its on a par with a pepsi looks wise,
you know it makes sense. if you want a pepsi looking watch, buy the Seiko, a great little knockabout watch. |

Made a difficult decision
Hi all - collected my BLNR and after much walking up and down, succumbed and isn't it a delight. 😃

I have both but the Pepsi was my first Rolex and it has a special place in my heart.
These are two different animals. The BLNR is a fantastic, stunning piece. The best modern Rolex out there with all the advantages of the new generation models - ceramic bezel, parachrom spring, better movement, bracelet, clasp, etc. You would not have made a mistake if you buy one. The Pepsi by comparison feels less substantial, has a rattly bracelet, tinny clasp, less wrist presence, etc. But of the two I would go for the Pepsi. It is a classic and will no doubt increase in value. It's a definitive, iconic and historic model. What it lacks in modern utility it more than makes up for in charm. And it looks great on a Jubilee bracelet, which is my preference - but the Oyster bracelet is nice as well. Also, consider BLNR's are going to be available for a few more years yet. Who knows, you may have the opportunity to pick one of those up as well at some point.

I love my Pepsi but I would probably go for the BLNR. I really enjoy the feel of the new generation but totally love the nostalgia with the older generation.

While I loved it, I came to feel it just didn't stand up to the solid feel of the modern Rolex technology and build. It felt 'jangly' and delicate compared to my Hulk. I ended up selling it. Beautiful piece but if your having one watch..go for a modern. I feel the Pepsi is a vintage piece for a collection more than an everyday only watch but is aimed more toward the refined/mature gentlemen if so Also, your friend is right. The BLNR is much more scarce in the UK. If you DO get the Pepsi..take it straight to the RSC and have it fully serviced. It will come back to you like the day it left the Rolex factory and have a new Bezel put on it. |

Hard to pass on the updates of the BLNR over its predecessor.
Hard to pass on the simplicity and timeless design/looks of the 167xx family of watches. Tough call. |

Congrats. Can’t go wrong either way. They’re very different watches. For obvious reasons

Had both. Flipped the BLNR and kept the 16710 pepsi. And I have a black and coke insert so it’s 3 watches in one. Easy to change the inserts. 5-digits are discontinued - it’s a classic.
