I am also from the “I love to spend it, but hate to waste it” school of retail therapy. Unfortunately, I have to agree that, for now, that’s probably the best deal you are going to get. I’m sure your time is valuable as well, so I’d suggest deciding (one way or the other) and moving on as there is absolutely no way to really know where pricing is headed with this particular piece. Post pics if you do buy one!

For most the d-blue it's hard to find and get a discount on top of it, if you like it go for it. The few hundred is not going to make much difference when it's on your wrist. Buy it and enjoy it!

Besides the price bargain aspect. It is a fantastic watch to own. If you like it, go all in.

If you and your partners can afford to have dropped close to $750k at this store, then is a few more percent of “love” going to make that much of a difference to your life? If you can afford that sort of outlay and are passing on 8% discount then you’re not serious about the watch.

Unless you have 749 partners and you’ve all bought G-Shocks.

Now you’re making sense!

I hoped you’d like the G-Shock gag. Thanks for taking it the way it was intended. I actually meant to add a chuckle smilie but missed it

Not really. Pretty cutthroat these days. Full retail is bargain considering how much the DSSD JC will skyrocket in value.

I remember the days when the 16610LV was 'no big deal', 'just another sub'. The DSSD JC is the biggest no brainer ss watch Rolex currently makes.

It will have a less than 7 year run ** shorter than 16610LV 10000% guaranteed.

Unique dial, special edition. People will be kicking themselves in 5 years

well, luckily for me (I guess) these "cut throat" strategies do not work around my neck of the woods when I am involved:)

8% off an easy selling SS Sports Rolex from an AD is easily considered a steal. Agreed!

I agree, AD pricing is better than the grey market on most SS sport Rolex watches. I was at My AD Saturday looking for a Sea Dweller Red, but of course they didn't have one and the waiting list was 15 deep. they did have Subs and DSSD, GMTs, even a BLNR AT 8950.00

Compare with 116610LV, the premium of D-Blue is not that bad.....

It makes me laugh at how devious it can all get when WIS are chasing hard to get pieces. Fair play to them for trying though and using a bit of detective work.

Prices are only going up. Every time I took a wait and see with Rolex over the last 20 years, I have always ended up paying more money. Its just the way it is with Rolex watches.

The Deep Blue isn't named after anyone. Only the forums refer to it as James Cameron. I've never seen a Rolex catalog refer to the 116610LV as "The Hulk", so...

Looks like you got it though! Smart choice! I passed one up at retail about 6 months ago like an idiot.

The deep blue is to commemorate James Cameron’s solo dive. The website makes that link. ADs know it as the James Cameron and the rolex website makes it clear that’s what the Watch is.

“Hulk” is a purely made up name and hulk has no link to the Watch.
