That's a good point. Could be way over-polished. Or just a little over-polished.

I could not imagine not wearing my watches daily... my sub has not left my wrist since I bought it and before that I wore my datejust daily outside of work.. it's a bit flashy for my line of employment.
But I buy watches to wear and enjoy if I worried about every scratch and bump I would hate it

Every day and I have spells of favourites, returning to the old faithful, my first every now and again.... no matter how careful you are, they pick up scratches and dinks. They bug the life out of me, but hey ho, all part of their story. What I see as a scratch, many would not notice.

It's not always about keeping the watches pristine.

I would love to wear a Rolex everyday, and I used to do it for many years.

I deal with employees and customers a lot on a daily basis, and my job relies on being approachable and non-threatening. Plus, my daily commute goes through a lot of unsecure places where I need to blend in, not stick out. Wearing any Rolex would be like wearing a neon sign that says Rob Me. I love Rolexes, but it isn't worth getting killed over.

So I've been wearing smartwatches to work for the past two years and only get to wear one of my Rolexes on the weekends, which is sad, but such is life. On the bright side, it gives me another thing to be excited about for the weekend, and you appreciate each piece more.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Too funny. I thought I was alone in this regard. The internet teaches that you are never alone.

I wear it all day, every day... it only comes off when I'm sleeping. I bought it to enjoy it, and I get the most enjoyment from wearing it, pretty simple.

I don't worry about my ceramic Rolexes, they are remarkably resistant.

I only have one Rolex at this moment, a BLNR. I wear it everyday, and swap into my BBN when I get home. I’ve only had it 1.5yrs and it is not babied at all nor was my EXP II. The case back has scratches from where I wore it too tight for a few months, the crystal has three chips (feel with finger nail) and a scratch, the clasp is good and scratched up, and the case and bezel are fine. It is definitely worn. But I’m not sure what else you’re supposed to do with it. Stare at it? When I pick up my next one which may be PM or at least two tone, maybe it’ll get babied a little. Time will tell. But I could also die tomorrow, so probably not....I’d rather wear it.

I've only got one watch. Only time I take it off is to go to the gym or work on the car.

This is a good point. I deal with a wide variety of people in and out of the USA. I wear the watch that fits the occasion. Rolex makes a statement. When I'm in the right situation the Rolex is my watch of choice.

I used to wear my 16600 daily for a year. Never took it off! Full of scratches and I love it. Now that I got back into the trades I have to wear my rolexes on weekends only which drives me mad because I want to wear them all the time

I think even that is usually projection. Very few would notice a Rolex and know what it is. If they do, it's likely because they're watch enthusiasts, so no harm done. Apple Watches are far more recognizable these days, and, dare I say, maybe even more recognized as a status thing.

Many of us around here are so into mechanical watches that we assume others care...but they don't.

I wear five in rotation 4 Rolex and 1 Omega so none of them get worn daily but I believe they are meant to be worn and not coddled so that is what I do....with good judgement of course. I don't put them at undue risk.

I wear the SubND everyday (not while working) and while sleeping. The TT DJ 36mm I wear out to dinner and special occasions (Sub at times).

I have a 2-Watch rotation; my GMT2 BLRO and an Omega Speedmaster. They split wrist time about 50/50, and sometimes I switch watches during the day. Seems like my mood changes every time the wind blows.

I rotate wearing my Daytona with a Panerai, Aquadive and FP Journe. Daytona gets the most wrist time because of its flexibility to fit in with almost any occasion/setting. I do, however, make it a point to wear the FP Journe at least once per week since it seems a shame to have that much tied up in a timepiece and not enjoy it.

24/7 with my Explorer II. I take it off only for showers (except it’s own weekly shower) and if I’m going to be out in the yard running the chainsaw.

Most of the scratches are from desk diving at the office.

I’ve never babied any of my watches including the nine Rolex I’ve had. My BLNR is just over a week old and so far it’s been mountainbiking three times, trail work including shovelling and stacking rocks, and hanging around the office while at work. The clasp always gets the first scratches, the rest is still looking pristine.

I have a pretty large watch rotation, with a lot of cheap watches that get wrist time. Sadly I love a lot of them, and it's not even about being a "beater" or anything. I try and wear my EXII on the weekends. My Milgauss much less often. Unfortunately been more regulated to special occasions and such recently.

I have one Rolex, an Explorer 1, and I wear it every day, in one week rotation with my Speedy Pro.

I have it for almost 3 months now, and it has some scratches on the bezel and on the bracelet... but those scratches don't bother me.

Heck, my hands have scratches too, and that never bothers me... so scratches on watches will not bother me either

Personally i am quite comfortable with scratches and dings but obviously I want to avoid them. I just think its something I have to live with. I wear rolex everyday. Life is short!

I wear my Explorer 1 all day everyday except for the shower. The watch lives life along with me and to hand it down to my son one day will be handing down more than a watch.

You might even consider the shower, too. It's the easiest way to keep the watch clean and avoid the dirt that causes bracelet stretch.
