Submariner Parts Compatibility

Greetings TRF! I am in the market for my first Rolex watch I have always wanted a TT Submariner. I also am far more attracted to Submariners with no date. Sadly, I don’t beileve Rolex makes a TT Submariner no date.

My new thought is to buy a Submariner 14060 and swap out the bezel, dial, insert, crown and handset for those same 18k yellow gold parts from a Submariner 16803, 16808, 16613, or any other TT (yellow gold) Rolex Submariner.

I have a couple questions regarding this and I hope you nice folks on TRF can point me in the right direction.

Question 1: Does Rolex make a TT Submariner no date?
Question 2: Are those parts on a Sub 16803, 16808, 16613, or any other TT Sub going to compatible with the parts on a Sub 14060?

Thanks in advance for all your help TRF!

1) No they do not
2) The parts are not compatible

1.The only parts that will interchange with a 14060 or 14060M with any 16 series model date subs are the hands and winding crown only.

2. I don’t believe Rolex makes a TT Submariner no date.{thats correct}

Thank you for the reply.

If the parts are not compatible is there another way to achieve my goal of a TT Sub no date? Are any other yellow gold parts compatible with the 14060? Thanks again.

If I were you I'd get a TT Sub and remove the cyclops. The date is less obtrusive without the magnification.

You can put the older non-SEL TT bracelet on and swap out the crown.

Thanks for the suggestion. Any way of swapping out the 14060 dial and or bezel with any Rolex or even aftermarket yellow gold parts?

Thanks for the suggestion. However, I’d really like to stick with a rolex Submariner.

Then I would suggest getting one of the available offerings and not trying to create a frankenwatch. Unfortunately they don't build it the way you'd like....pick the closest one and go with that.

That’s too bad. I was hoping Rolex would give me more opportunity to customize their watches.

Thanks to all for your suggestions and if anyone has any other suggestions I’d love to hear them. Thanks!

Yes but this is as close as it will get without trying to remove a cyclops

Sorry, that is what people enjoy about the brand, a very strong presence that is very slow to change. The watches are iconic without needing to serve the interests of all potential buyers.
