Here we go.. 116610LVc has broke the US $ 11,000 point on resale

Mines 7+ years old and I thought 8000 was ridiculous. It's a great looking watch though and I glad I have it and will never sell it. It's just unbelievable how it's shot up. It's tied for top spot with 116619 that I should wear more.

It can't see paying 11k for it and I just can't wrap my head around it. No way it sells for that

Wow, that's really moving for a previously owned LVc and certainly much more than I paid in 2010. It is a beautiful watch though and supply is currently scarce. Everything else in the investment markets is setting records daily, so lots of folks with cash to spend on luxury items. Feels like the feverish pace before the last market crash nearly a decade ago...hmmmm. Cheers!

You can ask any price on resale. Its whether it will sell for that price.

I could ask $15k if I wanted. But will it sell? Highly doubt it.

In UK the biggest dealer is already asking $12K and they will easily get it... and more in time, this is only going one way until something systemic changes.

With all due respect to the potential collectibility of this Watch, that pricing level is just plain unsustainable. Now, I might be eating those words in six months, but I believe the availability of the LVc and other SS models will improve significantly over the next few months. If it does not, I’ll have one for sale at those prices!

I feel sorry for anyone buying at these prices only to see the model not discontinued.

But then again, the people buying at these prices probably don't worry so much about 10k.

I am not sure why everyone has such a problem with the LV appreciating in value yet it seems accepted that the SD4k, DaytonaC, DSSD sell for crazy £

Yup. Ultimately, only “current” value is what a buyer is willing to pay for it.

Agreed, though as far as the SD4K is concerned, it was a slow mover until it suddenly was replaced by the new 43 mm model. I purchased one last year because the price was very reasonable, and I’m glad I did. Limited availability still doesn’t make it more desirable other than as a collectible. The others you mention are more desirable IMHO, but I suspect prices will retreat for those models after another year or so (I hope!).

Very true. I watched a particular P Car start at a certain price.
It dropped several times and I made an offer. We came to a fair price for both of us.

It does seem to be a sellers market on certain items.

Just for reference, what does a SS Daytona msrp for and what is the street price they are selling for? Luxury watches are a fickle market on which models get the nod and others don’t.

116610LV been around for years.

Mine arrives any day @MSRP

Im shocked the DSSD D-blue is not being snatched up when and If available as this is the one that will EXPLODE once discontinued. Much more scarce than the 116610LV and also the 16610LV. Zero chance the DSSD D blue is produced for 7-9 years. I expect discontinued at anytime between Basel 18 & 19.

Well lets see

The SD4K had a 3 year run approx. Very short. Makes a rare bird.

Daytona is well a Daytona. Rare bird.

DSSD D-Blue. Special edition. Still available but not many pop up. Will be discontinued sooner than later.

$$$ should right now be spent on the D-blue over a 116610LV.

D-Blue is a niche market. It's gigantic and bulky, compared to the Hulk which is a regular size with mass appeal. I too feel that it will become collectable one day, so I have mine safely tucked away.

$11,000 to $13,000 for a Hulk? That's too much green to pay for a little green. Smarten up.

If it is discontinued in 2018, pre-owned prices will eventually settle to around $10,000 in a year or so, after the hype dies down.

If production is continued, pre-owned prices will drop below $9,000, as Rolex floods ADs with supplies.

I saw someone changed their asking price from $10k to $15k. How did we get this point?

Ok. No and yes.

If discontinued, this reference will rise up up and away....$15k plus for sharp crisp sets is not even a doubt..

Or

If the dealers get stock again, the pricing will return to pre bubble.

My guess regardless what Rolex does next year is that the LVc will always command a $10k+ new price point. The Hulk’s prices are not a just released Baselworld new model reflection. I think that is what many can’t wrap their head around when trying to apply typical Rolex market pricing or logic. No one really knows how far up the LVc will go as it’s new normal. The market is still driving the market very consistently for this model. Rolex will surely capitalize on this on the next price increase.

Love how so many people are saying this. Do you not think Rolex know's exactly what it is doing and see's this high demand? Rolex price's only ever go one way in my experience
