Decision

SOOO, I just got the call, there is a white gold oyster flex daytona with name on it, I have been waiting for a daytona forever like most people. As much as I am delighted it would mean me moving on my DBlue which I have from new for a year. I love that watch but the Daytona is a grail. I've seen the oysterflex daytona in the flesh on someones wrist and its very special, but so is the DBlue.

I am very conflicted.

So where do we go when we are conflicted, here of course!

What to do......

OF Daytona is another level. 2 different watches (wear wise) we're discussing here. Personally would go for the Daytona.

The standard response of “if there’s ANY way to keep both, do it” would be my suggestion. If not, personally I would go with the Daytona and get rid of the DSSD D-Blue. The Daytona is just way more versatile and wearable everyday then the DSSD IMO. Best of luck, let us know what you decide!

WG ceramic Daytona is vastly superior to the Dblue in my opinion. I say do it!

Quite a difference between these 2.. you might miss the D Blue as it is a totally different watch. I imagine it was the size that attracted you to it so the daytona will be a lot smaller and on a rubber strap..

MSRP is a great price for the white gold steel dial oysterflex. I'd do it because I love it but also because you're not stuck.

Completely different, some days I love the size, some days it feels huge. I love the dial above all else on that watch. I have sold and bought the Dblue (had the original version in 2015) twice. I have never owned a Daytona. I fell in love with the WG Daytona the day they released it and in my opinion is the best looking Daytona bar none. Very hard as I would like to keep both but not possible without a divorce.

there is your 3rd option mate. haha

on a serious note, go for the Daytona, it is much harder to get these days than the Dblue.

Love Daytonas; infinitely wearable and specatacular looking. DBlue is cool but not near as wearable unless you're really large.

Sounds like you love the Daytona (as do I) so I would definitely go for it. The DS is much easier to re-attain if you truly miss it than that Daytona at retail is.

Hmm, guess that if the divorce happened you probably wouldn't keep either watch, as your significant other would what their share.

On a serious note, the Daytona would be the better bet, it is more adaptable to a number of different circumstances, you can do just about everything with it other than using it as a dive watch. If you are going to have just one watch then this is the better choice, IMHO.

Good luck deciding what to do.

Grab the Daytona, then wear both for a few weeks. Sell the one that you do not like IMO.

I own a YG Daytona for 20 years, a 116500 white dial Daytona for several years and my first gen DSSD Deep Blue since 2017. The D Blue is the one I grab on my way out the most. I would try to swing the new one and stay with the D blue so you don't regret this move someday...

Find a way to keep both. They would make a perfect two watch collection!

Pretty sure Daytona is going to be the answer here, by a landslide. It's just a much more versatile watch too, overall IMHO. GET IT!!! hahahahah

I would move the DSSD for the WG Daytona. Both are special but the Daytona is on another level. If the Daytona does not work out you can go back or hopefully it does and you add the DSSD back in when the time is right. Go for it before it gets gone.
