ADs can lose or give up their Rolex status at any point. So if you lose your Rolex AD status, a happy customer base who will still support you, ‘cos you treated them right, will come in pretty handy...
Usually the store closes once they lose their Rolex status.

I’m sure it varies by location. Must be nice to see some watches in the case!

Maybe I live in a strange market but I've purchased several PM pieces (2 Daytona oyster flex, blue dial WG GMT) at a discount. Paid full price for meteorite, smurf, submariner though.
I was told Daytona on OF is strictly allocated now. 2 per year for my AD.

The tide has to change. This madness must end soon. Keep waiting. How long have you and others been saying this?! Wasting valuable years waiting for prices to come down when they have never really done so

It’s just a watch guys...
Another person in denial on these forums. Isn’t bothered whether prices drop or not because he doesn’t even really want the watch. Yet spends his time on here discussing it multiple times a day?

Timely thread...there's a 2 tone Sea Dweller sitting at my dealer for over 4 weeks..hmm...20% off would be a no brainer...even 10% might push me..I have 2 other 2 tones or I'd snap it up at list.

Gonna stop by this week and see..

You are living in cuckoo land. If my AD loses their status I am off to a different AD. Why would I "support" them by buying watches I don't want and don't like? You're absolutely dreaming.

No AD needs a customer who is always on the hunt for the best deal.
These are not the loyal types

Good luck. Let us know.

According to everyone else on here what you are attempting is nigh on impossible.

Honestly I would think that AD future with Rolex is short.

If they can’t sell a TT SD in a month, there is a problem.

That’s a red flag to Rolex that unfortunately closes doors.

Actually that's an interesting point. Not sure about the red flag to Rolex as they probably are not that tuned in, but if the AD can't move a piece like that there are issues.

Maybe they should try discounting it 20%

Thank you!
Try re-ordering your questions.

1. What are you seeing for pricing on those two models from the secondary market?
2. What is your AD offering for those models?
3. Now, knowing what you do, which way do you want to go?

Good luck.

To verify I wasn't passing along erroneous information... this morning, I stopped by one of the seven AD locations in NYC to see what was in the case.

In the display case:

- Four Day-Dates
- Two YG Subs (one black, one blue)

I have not made the trek into my AD but will sometime this week.

Based on my research and few exchanged messages, $30k seems to be the rock bottom secondary on both models (MSRP @ $36k and change), which would require in that 20% discount range at an AD (can have shipped with no tax burden).

It’s extremely close as I would have to hunt hard to find a DD40 or YG Sub for $30k, but most are listed in that 33-35 range. From a relationship perspective maybe buying a PM piece at AD would favor me for my next sports model, but doubt it.

I keep hearing and reading that these prices are a result of the "The market has changed". What I never hear is WHY has the market changed? That's what I'd like to better understand. Why during a global pandemic and such economic uncertainty would the market for a mass produced luxury item go up and not down. I am no Milt Friedman but this is strange.......No?

I know, I was very surprised to see it in the first place. I expected it to be gone when I came back a couple of weeks later. I dropped off an old day date Tudor to replace a crown and lo and behold, the SD still there and yet again when i picked it up!

Have to go back this week to get a watch fitted and if it's still there, I'll chat it up and see what I can do and try it on again.

I fully expect it to be gone and for their sake, I agree with you, it's not a good sign on their longevity if they can't move that.

I believe you brother. With the huge population, I’d expect there to be more supply.

Cool. If the OP or anyone else wants a DD40 or YG Sub, feel free to PM me.... and I’m happy to keep a look out for the specific configuration you want.

People will claim demand has went up and that’s why the market is the way it is. Hype, demand, social media... all possible reasons. New money buying up all the rolexes. I’m not sure what to make of it. The more these prices rise and defy logic the more I think there’s market manipulation going on. Clearly ADs have stock going out the back door and imo that’s where it starts.

Which? I've been at 3 ADs in the last 3 days and each only had some shitty non-desirable DDs and no PM subs to be seen.

Anyway, even though PM DDs and YMs etc. are around in NYC, good luck getting SS.
