Panerai OEM NATO
Just picked up a Panerai OEM NATO from my AD. I had seen a posting about Panerai doing NATO's and when I inquired the AD had just received one 26mm strap. I am pleased with the quality, fit and wear of the strap. It is significant enough to support my 46 mm 1389 but is not stiff. Rubber partial lining and buckle. I believe the price is $260 but well worth it in my opinion. I will buy the black and white striped version when it comes in. Panerai is also making a white rubber strap now. Looking forward to seeing that also.

Nice hardware but it doesn’t look to be 26mm to me. Pretty big gap for $260

What a coincidence. A friend was at our Panerai Boutique on July 24 and have viewed the same strap.
I think you should not have spent on this strap. It’s not the money but the strap is not meant for your 1389. Your 47 MM watch has a lugs width of 26MM, not that you don’t already know. For that money, half would be the cost of the buckle alone. Some pictures to share. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Agree. Looks like it is a 24mm lug width?

Blancpain’s nato for bathys/FF cost like $800-900...
So I see the Panerai one is still “affordable” though I don’t think I’ll buy one as it adds extra thickness |

Thanks for the feed back. I had the AD measure the strap width and it was 26mm. I am using the tubes and I also see the difference in the lug width. I will stop by this week and have my AD check it out. The quality of the strap is very good. I own several OEM Omega NATO straps and it is different but similar in quality. I will let you know what my AD says.

Panerai OEM NATO
@1William
See the sticker on the packing? I know it is not that sharp but I am sure you can see the model number. Ask your AD if this is the one you bought? If it is, then the sales person of the AD or boutique need to get his/her act together. The specifications clearly indicate 24/24MM and everyone knows a 1389 uses 26MM straps at the lugs. And, I can’t believe you can’t see the huge and obvious gap when you are wearing it with this nato. Anyway, my picture is not the exact same as yours but as far as I know, this type of nato does not comes in 26/26MM yet. WKK |

Thanks for the follow-up and pictures. Attached is a copy of the bag the strap came in and it has no markings for size. My AD stated he had it in 26mm and took several out and measured them. I am not sure if he put the wrong one in the bag or what but I will get it straightened out and post what I find out. Thanks again.

There's no such thing as a 26mm oem nato strap yet. I love them and I rushed to the boutique to get a 26mm for my sub. The boutique confirmed that at the moment only 24mm straps are available.
