It’s Back (finally)!
As I mentioned in another thread here, I recently sent my GMT to RSC NYC for service. I was on a short vacation the last week of August and one morning I realized my watch had stopped. I sent it to RSC for service and approved their estimate on October 18th.
I received my watch this morning looking fresh and new.
I was surprised at how much I missed having it on wrist.

They did a fantastic job on my Sea-Dweller 16600. The new travel case is a nice surprise over the old felt one.

Second best feeling after buying it at list. Once sent my SD 116600 back for service, it came back with finger prints on the inside of the crystal so back it went. It returned with a lovely letter from Mr Henry Hudson who had re-serviced it himself.

No, I didn’t take a (recent) “before” pic. Perhaps I should have, but the GMT was in pretty good condition when it went in. I had it last serviced 7 years ago and sent it back this time because it stopped running. Dead.
I did call RSC and asked for a report on what had failed. They told me that they don’t, and wouldn’t, do that. Too bad, I was curious.
The watch had several parts replaced at this service, including a new crown, new bezel & new hands.
As far as why it stopped I’m guessing the main spring. In the last year, when the watch hasn’t been worn and stopped running, I would need to wind it about 25 turns to get it to start again. Yesterday when I wound it the watch started in only 4-5 turns. The crown also seemed to be rotating better.

Yes. The Rolex green pouch is a part of every service at RSC.
