Aqua Terra Shades - Terracotta hard to get?

saw this on someones wrist recently and fell in love with that red dial and i must have it...called a few AD's and they said it doesn't come very often...

these really that hard to get? I hope Omega isn't playing the rolex "waiting list"
game are they...?

Like all gimmick-coloured watches it will be in low supply and high demand, but then again you probably knew that already before posting this thread.

Call a Boutique and inquire. Ask them to search the database and see if one is available anywhere in the country. Usually works for me. Also, list interest on the website. I have had some luck with them notifying me that a watch is available that way. Good luck. Cool watch.

Should be relatively easy to land one IMO, especially in the US.

Good luck

awww dang...u guys think it's a gimmicky colored watch? I thought it was quite nice 9at least the sun burst effect compared to the flat red of the rolex OP...lol are bright colors like a fad thing in the watch world?? eventually it'll fade away?

should I reconsider buying?

By all means, buy what you like. IMO, and this is me saying this about me with my money & my wrists:

-do not consider any luxury item a financial investment. A happiness investment, sure, but a monetary ROI, likely no with few exceptions at the very pointy end of the haute horologie world.

-muted colors (blacks, blues, whites) will outlast any color. Colors are very polarizing & I don't think have the longevity of the three "standard" colors.

-would I ever be in the market for an Omega, I would likely not buy one at MSRP from an AD. In my cursory research, Omegas don't often hold value as well as other brands & the secondary market for them is largely available. Unless you negociate a discount & it makes you feel better buying from an Omega store, I'd consider secondhand in new/like new condition.

Buy it if you like it. I wouldn’t worry about resell as pretty much all watches lost value the minute you left with them. They didn’t become “investments” until the free COVID money came around. But even the crown is seeing dropping prices. Heck I see SS watches selling for a couple thousand over retail if you factor in tax. Give it another year and I bet it will be even. Heck, two of the ADs by me have the white gold blue bezel sub for sale. They both tried to push it on me when I wandered in.

lol yeah i wasn't worried about a watch being an investment by any means. i wear all my watches and don't generally plan to re-sell with aims to make a profit. if i were to sell it was because I just had to slim down or it turned into something i couldn't come to really love to keep.

I was just more curious as to other's thoughts about the red dial...i guess it is pretty polarizing...i mean it's red...darn thing is gonna stand out for sure...lol

I decided to get it. I really like the color red and i think of all the red dial watches i've looked it...this one is really appealing to my eyes.

Good for you for making a decision that works for you. Buy what you like, man. As far as I know, we're on planet earth only once (or at least only once with the ability to appreciate a well-made wristwatch... you may be reincarnated as a giraffe for all you know), so you might as well enjoy yourself.

I do like these. Congrats. The bracelet is a bit like the president and it goes well with the look.

So, in person, is this more terracotta or more red? This "shade" is definitely on my very short list.

edit -- didn't realize that the date window was framed now. Wasn't that a big gripe early on? Damn. Even good-er looking piece.

To me, the dial is more red. i know terracotta as like a more pale muted orangish-red color? it's definitely not that. the dial is definitely eye catching and the sunburst dial effect make it look good.

regarding the framed window, it was a last minute change that i definitely like. Without the framed window, the original version looked quite cheap with just a cut out.
