I'm thinking of taking myself off of the waiting list

... for a blue Skydweller on oyster. The unobtainable that I probably will never get. But at 42mm, it's really a bit too big for my svelte wrists, and although I think it's gorgeous and I love the complications, I'm afraid that I'll just look like a clown wearing it.

Even the Sub wears a bit large on me. The 39mm OP is a better fit, I just don't like the watch! LOL

What is a boy to do? I might be forced to buy another Omega.

And before you suggest it, yes, the Daytona fits, but I can't tell what time it is on any of them except for the WG blue face edition, which I can't afford.

It’s a great complication, and really unrivalled in that price bracket. Size however can be an issue it’s pretty big.

I can’t speak on ownership of the blue, but I have black and white and when I switch from one to the other the black looks deceivingly smaller by quite a lot.

Here's a similar look at under 40mm!

why not consider a Day-Date - especially in WG?

For grins, remain on the list and report back in ___ years how long it took to “get the call.”

If the Daytona fits you well, try the YM40. Awesome watch with great dials and platinum bezel!

Never go off the list. If and when one shows up, you may think differently.

Finally someone who knows that you need to pick the right watch for the right wrist. Lugs sticking out is not a good look!

Stay on the list, buy it, and flip it for profit!

If Rolex is going to endorse a CPO program where ADs can charge market prices for used watches then we as consumers should be able to reap some of the profits as well.

*ducks*

Slate/rhodium dial?

SAs suggesting pm pieces is not unusual. Don’t hear of them offering SS blue SkyD much.

My thought too. Can always pass. Or if they offer a consolation piece, may be something he wants. Or, ask what he may be able to get into in a reasonable timeframe. Having a smaller wrist, more obtainable pieces come to mind.

I have a smaller wrist and love the OPs.

I'm thinking of taking myself off of the waiting list

I tried the skydweller fascinated by the movement and complication

And promptly said “not for me” despite one being available on offer.

I found it too large to be practical.

Find the watch you love. Or several! I ended up with the DJ36 blue fluted jubilee to satisfy my classic model fix.

The obvious answer is go for a a blue DJ41 which measures to 39.5mm and wears a lot smaller than a sub. If you can wear a OP39 but prefer the looks of the Sky-D then this is literally the best option.

Go after a 36mm or 41mm DJ with blue face. Both are smaller than SkyD, both have excellent blue, classic and easy to read.

This. I've been taken off every single waiting list I ever joined.

Some of the "reasons":
- Oh we did away with that paper registration years ago. You must re-register.
- Those texts or emails to your SA don't count. You must re-register.
- That SA you worked with? She is no longer with us. I don't see your registration. You must re-register.
- Oh you live out of state? Sorry, your registration is not valid

The only registration that counts is ~$50k spend.

I never understand when people say they can't tell the time on the Daytona. I don't have the greatest eyesight either.

Me neither. Daytonas were made to tell time… 50 Years ago…

Stick with it!! Got the exact combo literally day before yesterday ... Took 1.5 years but still :)

If your AD has gotten exhibition watches in, go try it on?

Thanks to those who made positive comments. I will take another look at the DJ.

As for the YM, btdt, it's a great watch, but too monochrome for me.
