The 14060M (a “K” from 2001] is my daily wearer.

I have other divers but this is my best one for accuracy and size.

I do love Ducati. I have the bike in my avatar, the 1199 Panigale and a Monster 1100 EVO. I would love to visit the factory and museum one day. I love the DesertX. If the seat height wasn't an issue for me, I'd have one. I'm short.

I like both your bikes. I prefer your Panigale Desmo twin to the never V4. I love the Tiger but I think I'll have a Desert X someday sooner or later.

A great watch at 4K Euro. Would never pay 9K Euro for the watch though. So there's no chance I'll have another of those.

The 124060 is the way ahead now, but only at retail. Wear the 14060 well!

As someone previously stated - if you want the Rolex just bite the bullet, pay the gray market price and get what you want. It's that or pay more for stuff you may/may not want at an AD And wait for who knows how long.
The notion of refusing to pay above msrp in the luxury realm is understandable, but luxury pricing doesn't follow the norms of normally priced goods. Pay to play or go home is pretty much the mantra.
Rant over get the Sub or maybe even consider a Sea Dweller as an option??

If you are looking for a larger Seiko diver I would check out the SLA039 (on the right)

The 037 is pretty sweet too

The SLA039 is fantastic. Almost bought one, but then went for the SBDX035 from the same collection

I might still consider the 039, I'm only a bit worried about the High Beat requiring more frequent service.

Also, I'm a bit of a bracelet guy, would a Seiko bracelet (say from a Marinemaster) fit ?

Among others I have the Rolex DSSD James Cameron and the 001 GS. Of all my watches I admire these the most. If accuracy matters then it's the GS. Mine was not off a second in 3 months of constant, and very rough use. If you are a collector of any sort then you need at least one GS and it might as well be a spring drive. I have tried it with a NATO strap as well.

In the meantime you can get on a list for a Rolex and get that too in a year or two.

I‘ve tried on the GO both the regular SeaQ and the Panorama Date version and they are wonderful. The subtle TT Panorama version is stunning! But a good chunk of change more than the smaller SeaQ.

What about Blancpain? The Bathyscaphe in particular appeals to me. Ulysse Nardin?

Do not settle. Do not settle. Do not settle...

Otherwise you'll just end up spending money on something you didn't really want. If you can't get the Rolex from an AD put that Seiko/GS cash toward the Grey markup. There is no free lunch no matter how this plays out:
1. Buy useless crap from the AD to get on the mythical "list"
2. Buy watches you don't want, then buy the Rolex later anyway

You seem to like the Rolex most of all. However, you have sold variants of the Sub twice. They are not all that different. You also said you would hate to pay over retail for it... To me, the Sub is out.

As for the others, you don't seem to be over the moon on either.

I don't know what to tell you. If you didn't like the chunkiness of the maxi Sub, you'll likely not like the GS diver. They are pretty thick. Maybe look more into the SeaQ. IRT to dial color, you can find blue dials for days. There aren't many good looking green dials. If you like it in the SeaQ, hook it up.

When deciding on a dial for my OP, I went green because not only did I like it, it was also the only green dial Rolex at the time that was not in PM. I could easily get a blue dial in many other models from many other brands. Green done well is a little harder to come by, IMO.

*TLDR: Get the green SeaQ.

Thanks. I don't think the Sub is chunky, just a bit 'box shaped'.

On the other hand, I like the GS shape and case 'ratios', just think it may be a bit big in all directions .

There's no rush, this is a luxury purchase. I will keep an eye open for what's coming new too. Maybe Omega will also update the PO this year.

I think the Sub would be a nice complement to your Blue Pelagos and is the epitome of luxury diver to me. The only thing which has me wary of the latest Sub is all the stories about movement issues I’ve read on this forum (where watches with the 32XX start losing time).

Like many have stated, don’t settle. If you actually prefer another watch then purchase that. If not, you might be disappointed with the settlement and end up get the Submariner anyway.
