Friday night nostalgia

Just poking around with this old thing and thinking about scraping off that (expletive deleted by me) popcorn ceiling. My 14060 endured it a lot better than I did.

I hate those ceilings, having removed them in two homes over the years. True tool watch.

Hideous ceiling design that popcorn stuff. Who in their right mind thought it was a good idea? Was it even considered aesthetically appealing at the time or did the trades just do it to meet code.

Looks like a job for a contractor Al.

Make sure your mask is a snug fit.

I got real good at it. 6 inch blade is the best and I quickly developed a feel and could take it off nice and clean. Lot of going up and down the ladder, but in the end worth it, as we textured the ceiling and they look very modern. Helped me significantly increase rent.

Before I read the caption, I thought you were covered in bugger sugar.

Can you come over to our house Al?

When we renovated, we overlooked the ceiling in our primary bedroom… bugs me every time I look at it, but we can’t get the mojo to fix it

Might be easier to cover the popcorn ceiling. Also, be careful when taking it down, if it's older it might contain asbestos so you should have it tested.
