Anything is possible. I'd think one could emerge if it were somehow pressed into service along the same lines as the Omega Speedmaster for space travel. Not calling out space travel as the only means, but something extraordinary along those lines. I'd be surprised if one ended up claiming such a designation. Again, anything is possible, I guess. I wouldn't buy one expecting such an outcome.

The Advisor could be a future classic - the only alarm watch Rolex/Tudor have made.

40-50 years? Yeesh, who wants to think that far ahead. Most of us will be dead or close to it.

I would be more surprised if watches are still a thing in 50 years. I’m sure they will be made but i don’t really know anyone into watches outside of this forum. If i know 150 people, 3 of them are into watches.

It really is a great watch. A bit chunky but I can live with it.

Dunno about iconic but I like the Tudor chrono.

I don’t think any tudors will ever be hugely desirable they are seen by the masses, or casual watch buyer as the “cheap Rolex” they not watch geeks like all of us on here

Yes this.

If had to pick one it would be the Pelagos FXD - but even that is a homage to older Tudor divers.

Anyone suggesting the Chrono, just no. The snowflake hands alone mean it's going to be in the trash heap of history. Tudor went too far with that one and tried to apply Diver hands to a racing watch. Huge mistake.

Probably none. The mystic behind watches is long gone. What makes vintage Rolex so 'cool' is that no one knew they would be collectible in the 21st century. Cat's out of the bag.

Same with me. I bought my Tudor watches to enjoy, not to speculate their value after I'm gone.

I had one of these back when in production. Enjoyed it as a practical everyday mechanical sport watch — and think power reserve is a very useful complication.

For me there was too much plastic used; ended up not wearing it too much. But I could see your theory of these costing an arm and a leg down the road playing out. They already are going for over $4000 on chrono24 and I recall paying less than $3000 for mine new

Well, I tend to look backwards on these type of questions...i.e., are there Tudor models from the early 70's/80's that are iconic/relevant now?

they are fine watches but that's it: they are not hyped, they are not associated w/ anything or anyone famous

Tudor Ref. 7923 Submariner Sells For $99,999 On Ebay, Making It The Most Expensive Vintage Tudor Ever Sold Publicly
If not for a quirk in Ebay's bidding system, this watch could have sold for much, much more. 2017

Not to be pedantic, but the "plastic" ring around the bezel is actually ceramic and in my opinion it does add some contrast to the case design, but that's strictly subjective.

One can like it or dislike it, but dismissing it with a term that conjures up images of a cheap, low-quality quality product is unfair to the watch and the brand.

As I said, I bought the watch and enjoyed it, especially the power reserve. That's far from dismissing or being unfair to the brand, Grady. It wasn't a cheap watch nor was it low quality. From a purely aesthetic perspective, what appeared to be plastic hands and indices had me reaching for my BLNR more often at that time. I was never embarrassed by my North Flag and even wore it to a TRF GTG back in Hong Kong

I imagine that I'm not the only one to not care one whit about hype or any association with fame or celebrity and who doesn't care much at all about what is popular among the hoi-polloi.

The ones that sold fewer models. Harrods, PO1, full bronze BB 58, and I think the big blocks will just keep appreciating
