Hype and flash in the pan celebs don’t make a watch iconic. One of the worst arguments I’ve heard

Probably the FXD. I’ve been on the waitlist for 6 months now for it.

I really like some of the tudor models don’t get md wrong but i can’t see many becoming iconic or massively valuable over the years.

Has to be the Black Bay, which saved the Tudor brand as a whole. From black bay the only unique bezel and font with lower quantities than other BB will be Harrods Edition.

yes and neither did AP Royal Oaks in the first years .. but then came the fame and the hype, and that's why we still talk about them today

if anybody is clairvoyant and knows it before the visible hype, great for them

None, there nice watches but will never reach that level, there just to unknown of a band. It would need to be like Rolex where you find a old one in granddads drawer and check to see what it’s worth merely because of the name on the dial. I don’t see that happening with Tudor no matter how nice they are.

This ^.

There's actually very few truly iconic watches out there - the Submariner, the Speedmaster, the Breitling Navitimer, the JLC Reverso, PP Nautilus, maybe the Cartier Santos, maybe the Heuer Monaco..... very few in the grand scheme.

All of them have history, or a story, or a "first", or a distinctive brand legacy (or a combination of some or all of those attributes) behind them. As good as Tudor are (and they are very good, especially for the money), I just don't see any reason why anything they've made in recent years will hit any of those notes.

No one cared about Tudor 3 years ago ...its more the current marketing that made it somewhat popular today but for the most part, u step out on the street and ask people if they know what Tudor, most will have ZERO clue.

If anything, I'd say Panerai would better be suited for this question with its history and strong followers.

I think the North Flag is a good contender. It’s unique, first in-house movement, and you don’t see them often.

I think another contender is the current chrono panda dial. It’s just a damn cool watch.

Finally, the FXD

BB59 925. Fascinating watch. Super good fit, classic design, great basil, good color scheme, great, precious metal, unusual, likely to be a short run, all around promise

79220N. Far far far less if them than a Harrods or any other Black Bay model generally available.

Had no idea these had become a bit of a collectible, or how short the ETA run was. I bought one right after they came out in 2016 (at a 10% discount…when those existed!). Dumped it within a month because the case was too thick. Still think the same of the entire black bay line save for the 58.

I think what will be sought after is going to be along the same lines as today. If you look back 40 years or so, its the Sub. I think 58's and GMTs, and maybe the Tudor Heritage Chrono will be highly collectible and nothing else.

I think they call this line "Rolex" or something similar....

The ones that end up being valuable are the ones that no one wants in initial release. That means the North Flag is probably the best contender.

Maybe one of the Aeronauts or something similarly obscure, possibly the 79910 Ranger as the last Tudor with ETA & Rose dial, and likely the OG Black Bay Burgundy. Not sure about the OG Black Bay Black. Some years ago there was a small but determined cluster of members insisting it would be massive, and hyping it at every turn, but it's not turned out that way. Scarcity and short production are no guarantee of future collectibility. Just look at the Rolex 168000; very short run but no more collectible or desirable than the 16800 really.
