Do not put yourself in a financial bind over a watch … but … if you can afford both, keep your DJ, AND buy the Submariner … two very different watches … both fantastic … and two that you will love owning.
I have several watches, including a Submariner, and a “Wimbledon” DateJust, and would love to add the DJ with Azzurro Blue dial. That would be a great 2 watch collection … and cover nearly every occasion … a DJ with Azzurro Blue Dial, plus a Submariner Black Dial. |

Go sub. Bought the sub ND a couple of months ago, and has not left my wrist. Perfection!

My AD bought my 2021 DJ back from me for more than I paid for it when I picked up my 124060. I sold my blue BB58 too, no regrets.

I would keep the DJ Azzuro blue. I see waaaay more Subs, GMTs, etc.... then Azzuro DJs (or any Roman DJs for that matter). No, I wouldn't call the Roman DJs rare, but I do see way more Subs in the wild that Roman DJs. When funds permit, the ideal thing is to own both the DJ and Sub as these are the two most iconic Rolex watches produced.
The Azzuro blue DJ is on my to-do list. What spec is yours? |

Young men should wear Submariners not DateJusts! Go with your heart. Ultimately end up with a Submariner and GMT! That to me is the perfect combination!

I bought the sub and love it! I have wanted a sub for 7 years so I couldn’t pass on it. I loved looking at the azzurro blue dial and the PCL bracelet, but I can’t say I bonded with it otherwise since I found myself winding it and setting the date and time every time I wanted to wear it. An active lifestyle and smooth bezel don’t go great together. The AD told me that if I miss the DJ too much, they can get me another azzuro blue within a year so I sold it since a non-AD jeweler gave me nearly what I paid (including taxes). Would have kept both if there was more certainty in the economy, but that’s life. Thanks for your help everyone! |

Go for the Sub! Seems to be the one you've always wanted. Can't beat it for a one and only daily.
