It is a very cool watch. Super thin and light but it has presence because of it modern look.

Very nice. Thank you for the quick response. I haven’t had the pleasure of seeing one of those watches in person yet, but all the photos I’ve seen have been amazing

That’s how it started for me, seeing others. Then when I went to a mall, there was a Bulgari store and I got to try it on. I was sold.

My first PLPC and man it’s as good as everyone has said.

My poor humidor (it’s just a dry box these days) covered in construction dust.

What are you Puffing on now?

Halfwheel’s #1 cigar last year. They finally released them with the updated bands. Check your stockists.

Mainly Bourbon and Irish Whiskies only.

I do have some older aged rums for Summer sipping.

So i had my large humidor refinished. The veneer spanish cedar removed and replaced with solid aromatic spanish cedar, including having the draws redone a few weeks ago. What a difference, that sweet smell every time i open the humidor door is intoxicating. Smoking a few week old batch of montecristo platinum torpedos after the upgrade, amazing

Has anyone got any recomendations for great cigars and tips for new smokers?

I've smoked a few cigars in my life but it's always been through friends and co-workers. Now I've not smoked in awhile, I fancy getting into cigars infrequently, and was starting to build a list of what I may want.

I've read a few lists and have come up with 2 possible cigars that may be good for me to begin; The Cohiba Siglo I and the Montecristo No. 3.

I was also looking at lighters and considering the price of some of them, I thought I'll rather start with matches like these and learn how to light them.

Finally, I found this Humidor that should be great to start me off.

I know you can spend a fortune on cigars but considering I'm new to this, I don't want to spend a fortune and then find out I don't even like smoking them regularly! However, I want to do it right, so would appreciate any critique of the cigars I've chosen and any advice to a new smoker of cigars.

No reason to buy a whole box, of any cigar, if you haven’t smoked them on the reg.

Buy two or three of a few different marca.

Montes, RyJ and Upmann are great, light to medium smokes to keep on hand.

Get yourself a couple of Monte 4, Upman Connie 1 and RyJ petit corona. Keep them in your humidor and enjoy.

I’d stay away from Cohiba, other than the Sig 1. Cohiba are generally not worth their cost until you’ve aged them 3-5 years (or more). The Sig 1 start to shine after about 18 months. I burn through the sig 1 while I wait and wait and wait for my boxes of CoRo and Sig IV to be “ready”.

It’s a slippery slope. Before you know it you’ll have more cigars than you have storage for. Boxes and boxes of sticks you won’t smoke YET for this reason or that.

Oh yeah, don’t forget the cost of scotch that goes along with this “hobby”.

Thanks for the advice!

I was planning on buying 3 packs of 5 Cigars pouches to start with so I have 3 varietys, along with spares if I cut them or light them badly! I've not heard of the H.UPMANN CONNOISSEURS NO. 1 nor the ROMEO Y JULIETA PETIT CORONAS, so I've added them to my favourites.

With those 2, are they relatively good to smoke or should they be aged in a Humidor fo some time? I always thought Cigars were ready to go, was supprised when I read that they should be stored (Without their wrapping) to age. The perils of a first timer! :)

All cigars go through a sick period. Sometimes it tastes of ammonia, other times it’s just flat on flavor.

Habanos does not age their regular production sticks. Your local LCDH May only put out boxes w a year on them. Non-Cuban cigars are generally ready to smoke.

Is it advisable that if your cigar is sealed in plastic, then it should age for at least 12 months in your own Humidor but if it's unsealed in a Humidor in a shop, it should have aged well enough to smoke?

If your talking about cigar wrappers they are not plastic but cellophane which breathes and ok to store in! Their purpose is solely to protect the wrappers. However plume will rarely develop on cigars aged in cellophane.
