Never have, never will. Not for a mass-produced watch.

I am happy to report I have bought 2 Rolexes since 2016 at less than MSRP for both. An Explorer from a Grey and the grape OP from an AD with discount.
Me. Since Fall of 2017, I've bought three Rolex; all three from an AD. Two at MSRP (Batman and SD50). One at $350ish (don't remember exact amount of discount) off MSRP (Z Blue).

Apparently outside US and UK(not sure about europe) they do. I haven't heard of any getting into trouble for doing so too.

I’ve purchased 10 Rolexes since 1979 and never paid a cent over MSRP. In fact, use to always find a discount up until my 2004 anniversary Submariner. Since then, have bought two more but at MSRP. I have my name on an incoming 116508 Green dial (JM) which will also be at MSRP...

I think I have always been patient which explains some of these purchases. I actually did not know about Grey dealers until recently but wouldn’t have made a difference as I am not interested in dealing with them.

Never have and hopefully never will. The models I'm interested in now are PM and they are usually available under MSRP from grey dealers.

Never for me. I've been very lucky to have a great relationship with my AD. Last purchase was last year, blue dial Sky-D a bit under retail. Other brands like Audemars & Patek I've had to go over retail but they have been pieces I really wanted and don't think have done it more than on 3 occasions.

I wondered how this thread got to so many pages, clicked on it and worked out it was virtue signalling.

Having said that, I’m happy to join in.

Me!

Never have paid MSRP, I always buy at AD, my Datejust TT 126333 I got $1k discount on 2018, my 114060 Sub I paid at AD MSRP on 2019, on a list for Hulk, Batman jubilee and a Daytona one day. I will wait patiently, but not pay over MSRP.

The only watch I’ve ever paid over for was my white faced Daytona.

Paid £7500 when list was around £7000. Sold it a couple of weeks ago for just under £14k

I did not pay a penny over list price for the 3 I bought new. The TOG was a steal 3 years ago 2nd hand, I paid a little over £ 1500, with 18 months of a Rolex two year service warranty remaining.

Totally against my way of buying to pay over retail. My Sub and jubilee BLNR were purchased at my AD at retail in 2019.

Never paid retail for any of my Rolex watches exept YG Daytona GreenDial.
But buying overseas gives me 19% tax back when taken out of country....So still a steal.

Never for a new one. However, I have bought vintage/used ones for more than the original MSRP. A Red 1680 for 4500 in 2002 was a fantastic deal, but it was still 25x the 1972 msrp.

Nope , retail plus tax is more than enough for my liking .
a few years ago 5-10 % discount was expected

The people paying more are typically not going to be in this forum, they are mostly in it for the name.

Technically, I paid about $40 over retail for the BLRO.

AD wouldn't cover shipping.
