Hi, I may have some cash to spend on a watch, about £4.5k, but nothing really jumping out at me...any suggestions? Preferably second hand so can get a better deal.

I prefer modern sports models, had an SD & LV in the past and currently have a TT GMTIIC.

Suggestions much appreciated.

There are many models and brands to choose from so are you looking to buy a Rolex? If so buy the one that makes you happy. There are many choices you can make and for each person posting you will get a different answer. Also are you going to buy new or lovingly used.....

Hmm, don't really mind. Propably want a SS more. Was thinking about the SS GMTIIC, but not sure if I like it.

Hmm, if you've already had Subs in the past, maybe the steel and platinum Yachtmaster could be an option - it's got a unique look to it, and I bet you could find a decent one for a good price second hand

Ideally I'm looking for another Rolex but will get something else if it fits the bill. Already got a panerai so not looking for another one. Quite like IWC, used to own a 3717, possibly don't mind another...what else? If I could get an AP then that would be perfect...don't know the model name but it's the pic below.

£4.5k might be a bit of a stretch though on this one.

Basically I want a watch with a bracelet, not too fussy, and one i can wear and not worry about it too much.

That's the 14790ST, it's only 36mm in diameter so quite a small watch, you can pick them up for around £4000 if you look.

The new one is around 40mm and a real beauty, unfortunately they're not cheap.

Have you considered Cartier at all? They do some very attractive models in the price range - I'm a personal fan of the Roadster: it has a good bracelet on it, and also comes with a strap for less formal occasions.

Also comes in black dialled and chrono variants.

If you can stretch to a little bit more I have a like new Audemars Piguet 15300st with Black face. 39mm diameter. Let me know if you want any pics of it!

P.S. was in the same predicament with £4500 to spend and ended up with a PAM 312 on order and a big smile on my face, plus £200 in my back pocket.

I did consider the SDDS but I think it would be a push too far at the mo. Plus I'm not overly blown away by it....but thats only from pictures, haven't actually seen one in the flesh yet.

Think I'm swaying towards the SS GMTIIC. I've had the TT GMTIIC for a week now and love the new solid centre links, new clasp, beefier case, ceramic bezel...I don't think I could go back to a model with an older type clasp. The TT GMTIIC is by far the most comfortable watch i've owned. Perfectly weighted all round the wrist with no "flop" and the clasp fits directly in the middle of my wrist.
