Thoughts on my Sub

I just wondered what the general thoughts are on my Sub from the mid 80's, its been polished a few times at service and has a recent bracelet addition a few years back. Apart from that its all original as far as i know and the plots and hands are starting to very slightly turn light cream.

Forgot to mention I had the magnifier removed at the last service as you can see and the open 6 and 9's look lovely.

It's a 16800. When I purchased it I specifically wanted/looked for one with the WG surrounds, I know that the non WG are more desirable but for me the WG work better. The dial has also gone Matt although originally I'm sure it was more Glossy,

Very nice watch

Was it serviced by Rolex? I'm just curious if they would still remove a cyclops?

Thanks.

Fine watch, I however wouldn't consider it vintage.

I would not disagree, however it is getting there slowly. I remember I was going to purchase a Mercedes SL from 1987/8 in early 2000's, at the time is was cheap and not considered a classic, today it would be a classic and I imagine a lot more expensive. I think anything 35-40 years old and over is vintage.

No the service was carried out by a Rolex Accredited watchmaker, although Rolex did say at the time when I enquired they would swap the crystal for a non clyclops one should I wish. I am not sure if this is still the case though.
