No thanks to them.
Was told those were for bigger customers.

"Was told those were for bigger customers."

Probably should have had an open discussion with them so that your mutual expectations were aligned. Unfortunately for you it appears they have bigger customers than you. Perhaps you could have avoided the disappointment by asking what constitutes "big".

I have dealt with them numerous times. They have always been very direct and lived up to all representations made to me. In this environment not sure you can ask nor demand anything more.

Nobody is allowed to up charge for cc. This isn’t a personal sale on the forums. They are supposed to accept all payments at the the same rate. Cash might even get you a discount.

I have purchased from them before and paid via American Express and not told about any 3% or whatever. This was just earlier this year.

Let's not bash AD's here when they don't have a chance to have their say. Personally I think they have great customer service and the staff was great all around.

Did you walk the price down on them? If so, that could be a reason.

Thanks for the chuckle.

A. Thread calls for an opinion
B. It’s a forum about watches
C. They are welcome to join the forum and respond

I was not pleased at all last year after being their customer since 1994.
Glad all is fine for others.

The upcharge for a CC can only happen if you negotiate a lower price than MSRP.

i do not believe the 3% is an up charge for merchandise, more then likely i would believe it is credit card fee. most banks charge a fee to swipe the card, the store/ad has to pay, this can add up to a lot of money at the end of the month.. At my yard we stopped taking credit cards after 2000.00, we let customers pay by check. more money goes in our pockets then the credit card companies. it sucks. it like having a silent partner that does not contribute to the business, just has there hand out .

1.) They've already said this against Rolex terms. In some States it's also against laws. I would not pay it, and he has a right to ask if it's allowed because it doesn't feel right.

2.) If you look at them like a silent partner you're missing the whole point. They're a bank giving the buyer options they might not have had and the business now has revenue they wouldn't have had. 3 points is a fair price when you consider there likely wouldn't have been a sale otherwise.
