major skill. props for that.

but it is a two sided coin after all isn't it ?
i definitely support being able to make/fix your own shit.

but have to acknowledge that it makes the watch less sell-able.
just thinking of authenticity, or original parts on vintage watches type thing.

I don't get the dislike for "frankening" a Rolex. I mean I know the designers at Rolex are Gods and their final decisions are meted out to us mere mortals as icons whose alteration merits excommunication from the hallowed halls of RSC service. The whole thing is so silly. Rolex parts in a Rolex watch should be good to go go. Aftermarket parts that do not affect functionality should be as well. Does customizing the paint on a car void the warranty? Altering a material object to suit the owners taste and needs is pretty standard. And I can perfectly understand Rolexes position when it comes to something like modding the movement. (if anyone does that stuff. I can't imagine why but people like to mod stuff)
