Also the bigger news is that by asking the right questions and dropping the right amount of hints and using a small flex of influence that I managed to secure a 116595RBOW pavé dial as part of the deal...I will be living off of bread and water for the next 12 months, but I think it's worth it...only time will tell.

Pictures to follow as soon as I get the call!

Thanks TRF community!

OMG OMG OMG!

wow, just wow. I WAS going to say PASS because the the RBOW does much more for me, but you just rocked it right out of the ballpark like a BOSS.

Way to go, and I cannot wait for the pics.

Dang.

I’ve never shopped for these so I’m not certain but I’m guessing there is no way you’re getting a discount on these. Especially the Daytona. Aren’t they selling for double on the secondary market? It could be the easiest $50K OP made in his life. Although if you can afford these you’re probably not particularly interested in flipping these for a mere $50K.

A little over 3 weeks later and the SARU arrived and it came with a friend! I think this has been my biggest 'incoming' for a while!

Doesn't tickle me at all and I consider it to be borderline ugly. If you dress like Elton John perhaps you can pull it off.

I'd pass and for that kind of dough look at a limited Patek. I don't know many ultra wealthy but the ones I do know, wear very vintage or limited pieces often extremely under the radar.

I was a skeptic but it's really a thing you have to see in the flesh before dealing in absolutes. I've worn shorts and a Tee my whole life, I live on a beach so dressing up is definitely not my thing, and it looks pretty epic with board shorts and flipflops!

My personal collection is extensive, and used to be almost exclusively vintage, and yes there is a lot of Patek, AP, FP Journe and A Lange.

This razzle-dazzle G(e)MT is just a great bit of fun that showcases the expert craftsmanship that Rolex built their name on.

I'd love to change your mind, but opinions are what make us human!

cheers!

Can someone lend me a hand, my jaw is on the floor Amazing incoming. You made the right choice. Can’t wait to see the RBOW!

So was the green Daytona allocated to you because you bought the GMT?

I would worry more about your AD seeing this thread and price they offered you on line. How many of these are there. Would that be a concern to them?
