Tudor BB Blue or BB GMT Pepsi

With the new Tudor Black Bay Blue hitting the market do you prefer this modern day Snowflake or the BB GMT Pepsi — a great alternative to the Rolex GMT Pepsi?

I prefer the new BB58 blue due to the more classic case size. I do love the Tudor GMT, but feel the blue is a better fit for me personally.

I usually take my Tutor GMT when I travel vs my other Rolexes, so for me it's a no brainer. GMT over the BB. With that said, I will eventually add the BB to my collection, but not at the expense of my only GMT.

I like my old bb tbh. Its new but with references to the past. It feels more like a tool watch than six digits to me.

Bb gmt is beautiful but I’m not sure ready for prime time and I think the Rolex GMT is better. Objectively in six five or four. I am not sure I can say that about the bb vs sub, Objectively I think the BB is a better modern tool watch than the six and better than the five digits subs in execution.

So in terms of just importance. To me. The BB is a more significant watch than the bb gmt. Although I love the tudor gmt and the sub (which may arguably be the most significant line of modern wrist watch).

BB58 because it doesn't randomly stop working properly...

BB58 Blue no question.

Unlike the GMT, BB58 does not have a history of defect (date skip issue). Several members here have reported issues, and returning back to the factory more than once. Others have no issue at all. For piece of mind, and looks, BB58 blue.

If the gmt was in the 58 case I’d say GMt all day. But it’s not, so blue for me

Two very different watches, especially with regards to the size. On a pure aesthetic basis I would choose the GMT but not until the movement issues are solved for good.

Both are great models, and being from the BB range obviously share a similar aesthetic - on looks alone, there's not much to choose between the two. IMO the GMT is the better package with greater functionality but it could easily boil down to which one fits you best.

I tried the GMT and found the sizing to be better than expected after reading it was too big, so decided to go with that rather than the OG58. Unfortunately I did get the unwanted features some of the GMTs appear to have been blessed with, so mine is currently away for repair...

BB GMT. Better size and more functions.

Tudor GMT over the 58 for me. 41 mm and thicker case work best for me.

The Rolex GMT is more jewelry and the Tudor is more tool. The Tudor GMT is my top travel watch.

The BB GMT for me. A great watch and I really like the retro looks and the case design and size. The 58 is a nice watch but too small for my tastes and wrist size.

William, meant to ask what you thought of the OEM nato strap? I'm thinking about picking one up. Any idea what they charge?

I own the BB58 Blue and have owned the GMT 2x now (and have sold 2x) and I would say BB58 Blue by far. Love the colors and increased functionality of the GMT but it is simply way too thick for me (and seemingly needlessly thick vs other competing GMT models) and the matte black dial with green lume frankly looks off to me. The BB58 Blue is ideal in all respects, again for me.

I defer to William for his thoughts on the OEM strap...but I ordered one in June 2017. It arrived in September, and it’s metal keeper arrived in December of that year. I recall the whole thing costing ~$225 or thereabouts back then.

Personally, I’m nuts about the OEM fabric strap, but I also can appreciate cheap nylon NATOs as well.

Thanks Bill. I used to have one of these with my Black Bay blue 41 and really liked it. I'm assuming it's basically the same strap? I really liked how it attaches to the spring bars and doesn't have that giant loop thing you get with standard nato straps. The absence of "the loop" is worth the price of admission alone as far as I'm concerned. ~$225 is doable. If it's still that price I may go ahead and order one.

But I do like the new blue BB58

Yep, I had the striped one briefly for my BB GMT at one point, and it’s functionally the same as the solid black one from my 79220n.

Super comfortable on the wrist!
