Would it really be too much to ask?
To wake up just one morning to some GOOD news?

Good news doesn't sell. It's no longer about informing the public it's about making money and bad news is good entertainment. We only have ourselves to blame.

Oh please don’t bring up that movie CJ... It’s funny because one of the technical advisors was an Officer I knew, Commander “Rat” Willard. If I remember correctly, he was CO of VF-51, Screaming Eagles on CVN 70, Carl Vinson. Great guy and a hell of an f-14 Pilot. (Of course I was a better pilot) Anyway I saw him at a party after the movie and asked why the hell did they get away with all the BS in the movie. He just slowly shook his head.
If anyone has 30 or 40 hours with nothing to do I’d be glad to point out the differences between that movie and the real world of being a Navy Fighter Pilot. |

I got a state tax refund (California of all places).
I won't mention we probably just overpaid our estimated taxes. |

Stop watching the news. Humans aren’t meant to get news updates for the entire world everyday. And by news I mean they tell you every horrible thing that happened that day and none of the good. I’m convinced it trains people to be paranoid and to expect bad outcomes.

Here's some good news...
You're good enough, you're smart enough, and doggone it, people like you. *picture taken from your UCSD yearbook.

I don't understand why people want to watch these reporters only reporting the bad every singe day. If nothing bad was happening they wouldn't have anything to talk about, too negative for me. When a pandemic is going on, it's the Super Bowl for these reporters. That to me is strange, and I would rather watch/read what interests me. |

Hope all is well Paul. So here is the good news. “We are one day closer to this mess being over”. At least that’s the good news I’ve been telling myself every morning for the past few months. Hope you have been getting some good hikes in.

Thank you Ralph, and my best to you and your family. I did 14 miles in the mountains last week Looking forward to getting back and have a 16 mile course laid out, eventually working up to 20. It looks like the next week or so has high temps, in the mid 90s, so I’ll just do a little training around home until it cools down.

I've never been able to understand this issue. To me news is news. I don't need it to be good or bad. My happiness and sense of well being is not tied to the news. I just need it to be informative and accurate. It's up to me to determine the best source based on this.
If I had to pick one type of news to receive most all the time it would be hands down bad news. Information contained in bad news can warn me of impending events to be avoided or allows time to take steps to improve my current environment. Both are helpful when trying to make prudent safe decisions which ultimately contributes to my happiness. Don't get me wrong I'm happy to hear good news.
