Fellow physicians...

I was in a discussion recently (about an unrelated matter), and the subject of my profession was raised (I'm a gastroenterologist). The other guy kept asking me what I knew about "The 10 components of the digestive tract". I must admit I have absolutely no idea what this means. Is it an American concept? I've tried Googling it, but still none the wiser.

Any offers?

Fellow physicians...

You told me your first “specialty” was gastroenterology and your second “specialty” was hepatology.

The two are indeed related. However. A gastroenterologist focuses on the “10 components of the digestive tract” they are literally the focus of anyone that is a gastroenterologist. Meanwhile a hepatologist only focuses on the liver. Major hint here, the liver is just one of the components. Apparently they didn’t teach this to you in the medical school you graduated from in London.

It may be in layman’s terms. I don’t know as I am not going to consult the many “verified” doctors in my family over some TRF nonsense.

I gave you an option to provide sources and you failed. Miserably. Then you decided to call me names. And then you had to ask an Internet forum what the ten components of the digestive tract are when they’re apparently your specialty.

I’m done. Do not message me once this thread is locked unless you’re providing anything of substance and abstaining from name calling because I have a different opinion than you.

Me neither, I think it was an attempt at trolling.
