Alaska Eagle

As I mentioned a few months ago, Pam and I took the daughter and a granddaughter to Alaska.

Besides a lot of ice and great scenery, we also some of the wildlife.

I remember being on a cruise up there when I was a kid and the stop in Prince Rupert had a eagle tour for $200 pp. Being poor, I couldnt do that and I walked off the boat and asked a guy where I could see some eagles. He pointed me down the road to the local dump. When I got close, there were probably 30-40 within 100 feet of me and I got some great shots within 10 feet of some with a 50mm lens.

That night the people who did the tour were raving about how they saw a couple that were only 50 feet away.

Superb eagle Larry - the light outlining the feathers’ edges is sublime.
