Which size Datejust would you pick?

I’m not a fan of the 41mm Datejust but lets say the Rolex offered a 36mm, 39mm & a 41mm which one would you choose and why?

I tried the 41, It wore too big for me and seemed a little out of proportion. I'd go with a 39 (same case as the Explorer 1)

41. Even at 41, I feel like my DJ wears way smaller than my SubC.

I chose the 39 ironically. If it was same size as my Sub - 14060 then I could pull it off & my brother would be able to borrow it as he has mentioned if I bought the larger one. LOL Many members here expressed that the DJ41 fit more like a 39 because it was slimmer than the DJII. When I put it up next to my Sub, it was bigger & much more than I had expected. I'm going to try on the 41mm again but in all likelihood, I'll be buying the 36mm. My brother is SOL.

The best size of my watch should be within the range of 40 - 42 mm.

My thoughts exactly. I tried one on & it just didn’t look right to me. 39mm is my choice also.

36mm unless the 39mm becomes a reality. 41mm is simply too ostentatious for a "dress" watch and that's what a DJ is to me.

The day date 2 is selling for a premium now because some people want the large size and can't get it anymore. I could see the day just 2 following a similar trend. Just a small insight. I'm not taking a large premium but a small one.

I stick to 36mm the original size. I think 39mm or 41mm is way too big.

Wouldn’t that largely depend on wrist size?

Mine is 6.75” and I find that a 39mm fits best. Given the choice between a 41mm and 36mm, I would probably choose 36mm.

36 dj new movement with the jubilee hidden clasp next year please. Is this too much to ask for?

Yes. It looks like the hidden clasp is going away in favor of the oyster clasp.

My feeling too when I see this year's TT 36 and last year's dj41.

Rolex please come here, listen and keep the hidden clasp.

Interesting poll. The actual diameter of the DJ41 is 39.5mm so it is the 39mm version. There has only been one 41mm version and that was the DJII. I wonder how many recognized these details before casting their votes. For me it's the 36mm.

Which size Datejust would you pick?

I would try on the 39 and 41 and go with the one that feels the best one my wrist.

36mm. That’s what it was designed to be. Totally understand the trend for larger watches forced Rolex to make other sizes for the DateJust but none of them ever looked quite right somehow, the design IMHO always looked “forced”.

I would prefer that the DJ be 39 mm with the proportions of the 36 mm DJ. But, since no such DJ exists, I would probably choose the 41 over the 36 in today's market.
