Oysters Grow on Trees!
Hi All.
I've been looking out for a nice Oysterdate, and I noticed on the big E, a seller from HK with a seemingly endless supply of Tudor Oysters in practically mint condition, you can link off his user id to see what I mean. The fact that the first one has it's luminous marker across the "Swiss" on the base of the dial, doesn't really stand up to Tudor's reputation. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Tudor-Oysterd...QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Tudor-Oyster-...QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Tudor-Oyster-...QQcmdZViewItem I'm not going to use the "F" word, because I'll admit my Tudor knowledge is a bit patchy, so would anyone be intrested in giving their thoughts? |

these might be re-dials,except the last has the "goose pimple" effect-so I would think it was original.
I dont like the engravings between the lugs though. |

Case Numbers
Gentle reader,
The case numbers on these seem correct when compared to one of my Tudors: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Tudor-Oysterd...QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Tudor-Oyster-...QQcmdZViewItem The hour and minute markers look correct on this one and the "SWISS", while very slightly covered on my comparison Tudor, is missing the better part of 3 letters by what looks like a sloppy relume. The case numbers on this one: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Tudor-Oyster-...QQcmdZViewItem look sloppy but the font style looks correct. I can't comment on the T SWISS T as I do not have a handy reference Tudor. The markings on the back are a little too clean when contrasted with the obvious bracelet end wear at the case side of the lugs. It would surprise me if someone would go to the trouble of faking bracelet wear on a vintage fake. Respectfully, Mr. Manners |
