As one of the brilliant economist types that we have on this forum stated in an older post, since almost no one can buy a Nautilus at retail, the retail price is irrelevant, the Grey price becomes the market price and a Nautilus becomes, essentially, a fungible commodity. There are, likely, several hundred thousand people trying to figure out how to get any Patek Nautilus at retail, hence, the almost daily posts asking for help buying a Nautilus, Aquanaut, any Journe, any Royal Oak, a lot of Rolexes, a Lange Odysseus, a Vacheron Overseas (who ever thought we'd see that day?) etc. |

The 5712 in steel no longer shows on the site as having the new clasp. I believe they had briefly updated it to say the new clasp system. Leads me to think it will be discontinued soon.

If it is seen in the photos it means that it exists and therefore it will not be discontinued ;)

There has often been mistakes in the descriptions. I guess they corrected another mistake they had in the caption. I'm not sure they would have introduced the new expanding mechanism in the 5712/1A.

Don't have sense for me change the clasp now after 17 years...it's more simple to discontinued the model and put the new clasp in the new one imho ;)

Took some comparative photos before I send my 5711 to PSC for service. The 5811 is obviously 1mm bigger but it rests higher on the table due to the more rigid bracelet hence giving a much bigger impression in the photo. Please disregard the size difference you see here.

Finally got a chance to see the new releases in person. My favorite are the 5935A and the 5712 1/R. Personally I like the previous 5711 dial over the new one. The 5811 is just blue, while the 5711 had different shades of colors

Amazing photos. My favourite blue is still the 5726a. All are beautiful though.
