Anyone regret getting a 5172G?

I recently saw the salmon dial 5172G at my Patek Boutique and I must admit I really like it. The ONLY thing I'm not crazy about is the stepped lugs. Just curious people's thoughts on the reference and for those that have the watch in the collection, do they still enjoy it...or maybe regret the purchase?

Thanks in advance.

I don't own one (thought about it) but I like the 5172 family very much (especially the blue one, subjectively). The case is mainly what attracts me to this watch, even if the overall design is stunning.

This version is more on the traditional side (compared to the blue one) but can pair very appealingly with many other strap colors (hence made more casual). A great choice imho.

I agree I like both version - still waiting on cool salmon 5172 strap choices - factory one is very traditional

I have the blue one and I don't regret it at all, I wear it all the time.

I have the blue one. It's much better than salmon, IMO. Salmon dials make you wonder "Do I like this or am I supposed to like this". The blue dial much more versatile. No regrets on my part at all.

I prefer the blue dial over the Salmon. Nothing to regret with either watch. I also prefer the previous models at 39.5mm over the new ones.

I have the blue one and it is one of my favorite Patek; the other one is the 5320. I was concerned with the larger 41mm case size but the size should not be a concern unless you have really small wrist.

The lugs are part of my attraction to the 5172 and 5320 and I wear them daily, turn and turn about. The lugs make them a great pairing and they are not eye catching or showy mugger magnets.

I would admit though that I don’t like the pink variation and would not have bought either one had that been the option.

As for being ‘over priced’, well that’s Veblen Goods marketing costs and contrived scarcity for you. I really like both and as I am into long term ownership the ‘investment’ concept is a red herring. I really appreciate the design, mechanisms and finish of both these models.
