Omega or Catier

I’ve been a fan of both brands but never own any in my collection. Mostly contain of Rolex professional pieces. I am torn between these two pieces, both are iconic and looking to wear daily
Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch 2022 with new clasp and bracelet.
Cartier de Santos medium in white.
Which one would you likely wear daily for a fairly active gentleman.

For Omega I love the Sapphire Sandwich 3861, Ed White 321, Snoopy and Apollo 11 50th
For Carrier I love the Drive, Drive Moonphase, Santos, Santos ADLC, Santos Skeleton and the Dumont

For everyday wear between your 2 choices, I’d choose the Omega.

Omega. Been around both recently and having tried them on, the Cartier just feels…cheap. IMO anyway

I’d probably do the heritage seamaster 300 on the bracelet. That or a Railmaster on bracelet. Not clear why one needs to daily a chrono. More things to break and more ways for water to get in.

Santos is also a great piece. Finishing is a notch below Omega if we’re splitting hairs.

Gotta add the Speedmaster. IMHO it’s the iconic chronograph and every collection needs one

That's an easy one for me, don't like the Speedmastser at all. Nevertheless, even if it was an Omega model I cared for, I'd say Cartier, but not a medium.

I got my partner a Cartier for her 50th 3 years ago
Looks good on her but not something I’d wear

Cartier. I'd pick a Santos over any Speedmaster all day, every day.

Hmmm, two very different watches for two very different purposes. It would greatly depend on where you plan to wear it. Formal events, casual, just knocking around the town.

More often than not I personally would choose the speedy because I rarely attend Formal events.

Owned 5+ Omegas and currently have a cream cycle PO and the newest large Santos in blue. I think from a movement standpoint Omega is a notch above. However, case, dial and bracelet fit and finish I believe they are equal. One has to sing a bit more to you!!! Good luck

I’ve always want to own one Speedy in my collection until Omega De Santos Medium came along. Both are beautiful watches at incredible discount price in this economic downturn. Lean heavy on the new 3186 bracelet and clasp. But in the future I might pickup a Cartier also.

I have Both of these watches, and my advice if you get the Cartier Santos, get the large size instead of the medium. I have both sizes of Santos in the house (my wife wears the medium). If your wrist is large enough for the Speedy at 42mm, it is too large for the medium Santos. Just my opinion. Good luck, both great watches.

I completely agree.

I respect Cartier for their brand heritage and the Santos model but I have never been a fan and would never buy one.
