First Time Patek Experience
Hello, i went to my first Patek Philippe boutique a few days ago, just stopped by for fun and to take a look because its next to my omega AD, didnt expect anything of out the visit, i looked around and saw the new 5226G Calatrava, i asked if it was for sale and he said its spoken for but he can get me one in the next 2 months, absolutely phenomenal watch. the design, quality, feel and overall aura of the watch is different from anything I’ve handled before. only mine for 40K USD before 16% sales tax
now i dont know how the patek game works but i didnt expect to be able to order a watch on my first time visiting based on many other experiences i’ve read on here & other forums for Patek & AP. i recall my first rolex visit where i wasnt offered anything without a really long wait/having history, so my patek experience (and AP, will post in their section) is far more positive and the wait is much less than anything at rolex. Attached a wrist shot. |

I'm glad you could enjoy a nice experience with a Patek AD.
From what we read, there are so many factors coming into account, not forgetting it might be different from a region to the other or even from an AD to the other. I know the policy is to try to have a balanced customer panel, hence you never know, even with a short buying history. Thanks for the feedback :) |

Hamilton called and want their watch back. Just kidding, not really. I saw this watch at my AD the other day and for the msrp I think it is ridiculous. If I was to buy a PP it would need to either be more unique or a more classic design, or maybe both. Everyone has their own tastes though.

If the 5226 is that readily available to a new customer of Patek then my AD is trying really hard to string me along. I am growing tired of all the bs games with this brand.
Glad to hear your experience has fared better than mine. |

I think this is one of Patek's best releases. My only complaint? Should have been 38mm.

Wow, stroke of luck. I'm interested in one of these but my AD told me they don't expect any allocations of these in the next year and I have a decent relationship with them. While I do really like this watch I have to agree with 1William that the price to value ratio here is way off when you compare even to an aquanaut for example...

I visited a Patek dealer and they had the 5226 g in the case but not for sale. The sa/manager wouldn’t even let me touch it haha. Put on his gloves and held it a safe distance away from the rabble.

Both use the same movement, the Caliber 26‑330. Without knowing the real cost of production I'd say it's harder and more expensive to produce a case of the 5226 than a case of 5167, as the Clous de Paris pattern goes throughout the whole watch. This type of case is not being produced in any other model either. The same goes for the dial, this type of dial is only being produced for the new 5226 and the 5326. Again, without knowing anything about production costs, I'd say it's harder to produce than the dials for the current Aquanaut line, and under a loop, it looks great. Lastly, the 5226 comes with two bracelets. The prices are not "way off" if you really compare these two. I own Aquanaut and the 5226 btw. br, |
