B25 Datora Question(s)

I recently picked up the Breitling B25 Datora and love it! I do not wear the watch with formal attire or tight cuffs so the thickness is a non issue for me at least. This is my first Breitling however, and I have a few questions.

First, I know the B25 movement is based on a modified 7750/Concepto movement. On Breitling’s website, it lists the movement as having 26 jewels. However, the movement has 32 jewels based on the engraving on the movement itself as seen through the case back. I find it odd that Breitling is listing the incorrect number of jewels on their own website. It’s pretty obvious the information Breitling sent to journalists when it was released is not accurate because most articles also say the movement has 26 jewels which is not accurate. Does anyone have any real articles or information on the true details of this B25/Concepto movement?

Second, the watch is running between 8-11 seconds fast per day. I’ve had the watch for around 1 week at this point. Would you be satisfied with this or should I get it regulated closer to COSC specs. My other watches are well within COSC spec so this is the first time in a while I’ve dealt with a watch running this fast.

Thanks for any info or advice!

The words below in italics are all courtesy of "WatchFred", who posted this on the BreitlingSource forum I moderate. For those who don't know (and he is a member here), Fred is one of, if not the, the best "authorities" on Breitling that we could hope to have direct access to.

The Manufacture Caliber B25 is based on a Concepto caliber. Concepto is a "manufacture de mouvements mécaniques d'exception", it isn’t “in-house” Breitling.

Breitling decided to develop the caliber with Concepto, relying on their strong watch-manufacturing knowledge. Breitling & Concepto jointly enhanced the base caliber with specific Breitling requirements. One of the major enhancements was made on the calendar drive mechanism to ensure a "saut de calendrier" (calendar break/change), making it more accurate and reliable. This lengthy modification & homologation process lasted 1,5 years in total.
Breitling will be the first Brand to use this upgraded Concepto caliber on the watch-market.
Specific to Breitling, the concepto caliber has :
• rigorous testing & homologation as a "manufacture" caliber (hence 5-year warranty),
• specific lubrification points,
• specific caliber "decorations",
• specific oscillating weight (different from standard oscillating weights previously seen at Breitling).

I can't tell you anything extra about jewel number as everything online still states 26 jewels.

8 seconds a day is marginal. but 11 seconds a day is over a minute a week which is definitely too much for me, although YMMV. Personally I'd be getting it regulated as, as a movement, it's more than capable of running to COSC.
