“Home Depot” engraving?

I was searching for a while for a dj36 simple dia doom bezel, no other frills, for my wife’s upcoming significant birthday.
This piece came to my attention from Chron24 with pretty good descent price (about $8000 brand new, stickers on)
However (every story has a however behind that), I noticed this engraving at back.
Seller explained it’s gifted by home depot to their employees. And he can offer to polish it out.

I’m hesitant now. I don’t have a watch with some stupid brand name tattoo on it. Neither do I want it to be polished.
So, should I make fuss or just let it go?

Is your wife big into gardening and power tools? If so, you struck gold my friend.

Joking aside, I think you can get a replacement case back.

If you don’t want the logo and you don’t want it polished… pick another watch…

Polishing that out takes a few seconds and is no big deal

“Home Depot” engraving?

If everything else is fine would say go for it, getting that polished out is very simple and would not diminish its value

Make a fuss? What would be the point in this?

Oh definitely make a fuss about it, whatever that entails...

I think you've answered your own question.

Just get a new case back which are relatively inexpensive during the next service.

Seconded. Rolex told me on a 126710BLRO in 2019 that a new case back was only like $275, or it may have even been like $150. If the watch otherwise is fine and the price makes sense to where you can stomach another couple hundred bucks and the watch being away for up to a month or so at the service center, then go this way.

Phew! At first, when I read the title, I thought you were asking if Home Depot could engrave your Rolex.

I think it's cool.

I'd rather have a Home Depot logo on the back of my Rolex than a Khanjar.

To the question at hand I’d try to negotiate a couple hundred off for a new caseback and buy it as long as you like everything else about it.

It's a case back. Replace, polish just the case back or pass.

The case back is what it is.

Themselves knows what he is selling and priced it accordingly. It's either more or less than what you are willing to pay. It's called negotiation. Adults negotiate, children make a fuss.

I managed to negotiate down to $7500 shipped and leave the case on.
I probably get RSC to change it on the next service
