Struggle for SS Rolex Sport is Real
Wempe and Rolex boutique in midtown Manhattan have zilch as of today. Compared to last year this time, it's amazing. Plenty of PM sports, DD and DJ galore tho.... tells you something about either demand or limiting supply to squeeze secondary.

Both. Supply is pretty low from what I hear.

Read it on TRF earlier this week and totally makes sense... Rolex predicts and supplies output two years in advance. They didn't expect sales to be as high as they have been this year and are out of stock to supply ADs. What is trickling out of the factory is slowly making its way to ADs. I would hate to be an AD and not having anything to sell this time of the year.

Maybe the planned trip to Mars is consuming all of the stainless steel supply for the earth base, scaffolding, and spacecraft.

Looking for these references in the big cities is a waste of time.
They have them in the vault for the premium clients. |

I heard Rolex has stopped sending its dealers sports watches for the next 2 months to try to drive the demand for Djs and Daydates in the interim

Midtown gets so many tourists that you might as well be looking in London or Hong Kong.
American cities without swarms of well-heeled tourists will be more likely to have stock. |

The ss models trickling into stores now were all made by the Rolex factory cleaning lady.
The real watch makers were all given the rest of the year off. |

Seems they are in short supply everywhere. My AD normally has lots of SS sport models, not so much right now.

My AD had some SS models in the display case. I was there and someone was trying on a DBlue. He did not buy it. Would have probably snagged that if I wasn't there picking up my Daytona C.

Here in Switzerland, even the Milgauss disappeared from the dealers displays.
Only remaining items are PM sports, DD and DJ (at least in Lucerne and Zurich). |

I have no interest in those models so if I were buying I would either wait for what I want or look at another brand.

Yep, my trusty AD in the area is out also, other than the Milguass and Yachtmaster, no SS sports models, and they say very few have come in....

Yep. No sports models in my local ADs as well. Frustrating for the sales staff to have to turn away customers eager to spend money.

I was in Sydney Australia. I would say no sports models at all. There was one PM yacht master in the 2-3 places I looked at.
One said they had 15 people come in a day asking for SS sports. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I heard it is so potential buyers purchase another brand instead. There is no doubt Rolex is losing sales/customers because of what is happening regardless if they care or not. |

Still not so bad in Canada. Was still seeing Subs, Exps, DSSD, GMTs in display cases. Just no Daytonas, BLNR or Hulks. I guess polar bears and beavers don't often buy Rolexes.
