Best: Running - costs next to nothing for gear. Every run is an adventure of pain and accomplishment. It fits my personality to a T.

Worst: Woodworking - all the tools get expensive and take up lots of space, it’s hard to select good wood, takes a lot of time and it’s messy.

I keep thinking I haven’t really got a hobby??

Maybe exercise and fitness. Not sure it counts as a hobby though.

Cycling is a bitch, sometimes after a long, gruesome ride I look at the bike and ask myself “why the heck am I doing this ? I’m done...” only to be back on the bike 48 hours later.

I’m not sure I actually have a ‘hobby’?

I have a very precious little boy and he is my everything.

I am an avid fan of Formula One

I am a fan of Liverpool Football Club (since childhood)

I love long distance running and run 3 times per week. Mainly to keep my weight in check but the mental benefits are huge but still don’t think it’s a hobby.

Hiking - completed a 24 hr challenge last year and climb a few mountains a year but again, wouldn’t classify it as a hobby.

I suppose there’s always watches!!

Hobby: a pursuit outside one's regular occupation engaged in especially for relaxation
: an interest or activity engaged in for pleasure

Well that clarifies

It’s funny, I was just discussing this very thing with my wife. We both agreed that we had ‘interests’ not hobbies but who am I to argue with the dictionary

Golf club repair, if you had the eye and could line up grips n glue clubs correctly, cut clubs to proper length and not ruin people’s stuff on a buffing wheel you were a big deal in the 10-20 mile radius where I live. The shop I worked for was on a lot of the pro ball n hockey guys stop before they hit home from the garden or Fenway and being a 16yr old kid at the time that just likes to talk about life n cars n not be a groupie n ask for autographs they would always flock to my part of the store, was a lil corner repair shop I called home in my teens after school. Never in a million yrs would one guess how much trust a pro athlete puts in the kid building his golf clubs. Did it til my mid 20s then moved on and I’ll tell ya being 31 now if my old boss called me n said want 20hrs a week....I’d fit it in somehow just to be back in the inner circle n for the days at the range hitting balls talkin sports with h.o.f. Members now that still shop there 3 nights week.

Golf is a great game

We enjoy hiking and cycling. Went hiking in Pa 2 weeks ago. Decided yesterday to leave Fla for next week and will hike on the Bruce Trail and other trails near Tobermory Ontario. I like to keep active and doing things and observing nature. Hot, cold, rainy it doesn't matter. There is always something to see and observe.

Before I had kids, I volunteered in a big brother type program on two separate occasions.

Both kids were from underprivileged, inner city, single parent households. One of them is now finishing his junior year in high school, we still stay in contact to this day.

He’ll be going to college when he finishes high school next year and I see a bright future for him. Providing advice and help for him when I’m confident he wouldn’t be able to receive it elsewhere is highly rewarding.

Sadly, I’ve lost touch with the other kid - numbers disconnected, no response from email, and nobody has been able to help me out.

Something I’d like to do again when my kids are older and I have some more free time.

I collect football (soccer) memorablia, particularly match worn football shirts. I guess I could call it a hobby. It's certainly a passion of mine. I prefer to collect older shirts from the 60's, 70's & 80's but I have some from every era.
I have shirts belonging to most of the great players.

Lately I've also been thinking I'd like to learn how to frame items, pictures, shirts etc.
I might look into how I would go about learning that.
