Daytona Zenith or AP Royal Oak ultra thin

Hi All,

Looking for a new watch to buy, I have found a 16520 serial A full set and a AP 15202, both are in similar good condition, both are in the same price range.

Which one would you choose?

Daytona for value appreciation, but I would pick the RO for wearing!

If you pass on the zenith can you give me the sellers details please.
As you can tell I would choose the 16520.

really depends what other watches you have and how you plan to wear the watch. Despite being an older watch, I think the 16520 will make for better daily wear. The 15202 seems a bit dainty to me. Super cool? Yes. Beautiful? yes. Rich with history? Yes. But kind of fragile for my liking.

Perfect for a special occasions watch, but not a daily wearer, for my lifestyle at least.

You don't say what the price differential is between the two in your post. If they are equal in price, or reasonably close, you have to pull the trigger on the AP here.

15202 hands down. The AP is much more difficult to keep in perfect shape and I personally wouldn't buy it if it's not NOS or close. I presume you're buying it pre-owned.

Thank you all for your comments, both watches are in the Ł20k range but I am sure I can knock down the price.
I do have other Rolexes, a GMT2, a Sub and a Daytona black dial, all pre ceramic.
I am not buying to speculate but as all of us I would love it if the value of the watch goes up.
The 16520 is a white dial while the 15202 is blue pre owned from 2016

Many thanks for your advices.

That said, I think the 15202 would fit in wonderfully!

15202 then for sure. You already have a daytona and the 15202 adds another dimension to your collection.

You better grab that 5 digit Daytona my friend! Those are only headed in one direction!

And it's a complete "A" series as well, it's a no- brainer!

I would go with the Jumbo. It is the superior watch. It’s worth it’s price. The Zenith is driven by speculation. The modern 116520s and 116500s are better watches in nearly every way. The 15202 is a classic and it represents the original Royal Oak. Must be blue dial of course!
