What am I missing?

I have a DJ41, DJ36TT, Explorer II Polar and a Submariner Date.

There is so much hype about the Submariner on this site about how wonderful it is. But, its my least favorite watch. Much prefer to wear the other 3. I guess its just personal preference but if not, what am I missing about the Sub?

The Sub and Polar came from DavidSW. Great guy to work with. The others came for AD's.

I have no idea what you're missing because you failed to explain why you prefer the other pieces. The objective positives of the Sub are obvious. It's a timeless classic that will never go out of style. It is bulletproof and waterproof. The timing bezel is handy. It goes well with any attire, be it suit or jeans. The glidelock system means it will always fit well. Honestly, I have a difficult time finding anything negative to say about it.

Being your least favorite watch doesn’t mean it is bad watch, it just mean the others are more preferable to you, which is ok and normal.

To each his own. Beauty in the eyes of the beholder and all that.

It seems you prefer the dress watches.

If you can't see the greatness, then get something which appeals to you and sell the Sub to someone who will appreciate it, and there are many who do.

You might even make some money off your sale.

Then you'll have no reason to complain.

Great advice.

Seeing these two in one sentence makes it seem like you mean the sub is literally bulletproof haha

Good point though

Reference numbers would help us understand just exactly what you have and what you might be missing.

The bottom line is that if you don't like the Sub Date, then you don't like the Sub Date.

There's nothing mysterious about that.

You are missing some other fine brands of watches. Try branching out.

Don't feel bad. Subs do nothing for me either.

I guess that’s why Rolex had cut back SS professional models...
Due to the fact that there’s nothing special about them ...
It’s all about the DJ’s and DD’s

Who, let the dogs out “who” who “... !!!
So it’s all about DJ’s who wear DJ’s, you see ...?

If you don't like subs and GMTs its a great time to be alive! I'd start saving for a DD.

The sub is a great watch I always recommend to first time buyers. But to be honest. They do nothing for me either. I even had the opportunity last month to get one at 10% off amid all this SS hype. But I turned it down.

If you don't like it. Nothing wrong with that. Definitely sell it to someone who will enjoy it and spend the funds on something you will like. I'm glad not everyone buys watched for resale value. Buy what you love.

The Sub is a very classic watch. That being said, to some people classic isn't "exciting". Not everyone's going to like the same things, but it also seems you prefer the combo of dressy/very casual. The Sub kind of splits the difference there, so maybe that's why you don't like it?

Sell your sub, no point keeping a watch you don’t like, a gmt is’n’t for you either, it’s basically a dive watch with 2 time zone.... You seem like you would enjoy a sky-dweller.

I’m not complaining about the Sub at all. I like looking at it but just prefer wearing the others. Not selling it but would love a sky dweller.
