Oysterqaurtz vs oyster perpetual

Hi everyone, what is the difference between the oysterquarts and the normal oyster perpetual? Is the oysterquartz still mechanical? Which is the better model? Currently looking at 18k daydates. Thank you

I have three oyster quartz. A WG d-d, a 17014 Stainless steel and WG bezel and a 17013 the two tone YG and SS. I love them along with my mechanical Rolexes.
