Cruise to the Mediterranean what watch?

So I am taking a cruise in the Mediterranean in May and very undecided on what watch to Bring? This is what I have. A stainless 1601 either (jubilee or leather) a Speedmaster (on leather, nato or stainless) a 114060 on stainless. Or should I opt to buy a cheaper vacation watch? Will be 7 days on and off the boat and spending an extra two days in Barcelona? I will wear the watch daily and will not leave it in the stateroom or hotel.

I did seven days cruising the Med with two days in Barcelona two years ago. Wore my polar ExpII 16570 every day except one, when I wore the Black Bay. Just wear what you feel like grabbing on the day you leave.

Problem solved.

I'd go sub, it's newer so no worries with water resistance. Glidelock will offer quick comfort etc.
Have fun

I insure my watches and cruise with them all the time. Many times, I take more than one.

I'd say the Sub is the most "vacation ready" of the three. I'd either go with that or grab a fun Seiko diver and wear that instead. My Turtle is definitely my travel watch. Insurance is fine for replacing value, but you can't replace the memories and attachment you have to a particular piece.

I would say you are taking it all way too serious. The same can be said of any Earthly possession.
It’s an object.
It’s replaceable.
The memories are in your head and the only thing you will take with you on judgment day.
Buy it, insure, wear it wherever, whenever. Life is way, way too short.

For me I like having the date but tough to pass up the Submariner for this adventure! In your shoes I would totally wear the Submariner

Insure them. Wear them every where and enjoy them. If they get lost... No worries. Insurance gets you a new one.

Having said that. Since you you will be on the high seas. Take the one with a steel band.

Last time I was on a yacht I lost my watch. This year I'm planning to rent a yacht for a few days somewhere in Europe and don't want to repeat the mistakes. I've found one Sailica yacht charter service with large variety of yachts at affordable prices and I just want to relax and have a great time. I will leave my watch at home probably.

I would go with the sub, but make sure its insured as others have said. Also stay very cautious in Barcelona because I had witnessed two purse snatchings within 5 minutes of arriving.

Sub I’d say.

I do a med cruise most summers, great itineraries and Barcelona is a great place to have some extra time.

Sub. Not a fan of traveling without a glidelock clasp anymore.

The Sub for daily wear and the datejust for any fancy dinners. If just one, the sub of course.

I was on a Mediterranean cruise last August. Barcelona was the only stop that we were specifically warned by the cruise ship about being careful with valuables. So I took my bluesy and a G-shock (which I only wore when we were in Barcelona). Saying that I personally found Barcelona to be brilliant and think the cruiseline guidance was bit over cautious.
