Love mine! Wears smaller than the specs on paper. Love the dial. It’s beautiful in the sunlight.
I told me AD I wanted one back in the beginning of August. They expected to start receiving them in Sept. I received mine by Aug 26th. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I got mine a few months back, impulse buy. I really like the green color! I believe they are readily available.

I got mine from a TS here. It's one of last year's JDM models (SZSC004). You can still find these in the classifieds here. They have the older 6R15 movement with a 50 hour reserve. Its got a beautiful sunburst dial - I prefer this shade of green over the hulk.
The new 2019 reference, SPB103 has the 6R35 movement, sapphire crystal (older one is hardlex) and a few other differences. |

Not sure. 6r15 has 23 jewels, and the 6r35 has 24. They probably just made some incremental updates. Altho the PR one is pretty big. Someone else might chime in with more info.

Oh. Forgot SK, you want a greeny. I don't think any of these are LE, so you'll eventually find one.
Cheers! |

Easy to obtain and also easy to obtain at a great price. The rrp in Australia is $1300, I bought mine for $850 AUD. Fantastic watch for the money, strapcode jubilee bracelet is perfect with it too.

I’d consider one although I’m not sure why it’s scarce. It’s a regular Sumo isn’t it?

I own the green and the black. The green in the right light is stunning. This watch is one of the reasons I moved my Hulk along. The Hulk is great but not worth 14x the green Sumo.

My thoughts exactly on the Hulk!
I want one, but I’m not spending $14K on it. I should receive my green Seiko Sumo on Monday or Tuesday.

At an AD only 10x more not 14x.
But in either case the price difference is irrelevant. If price was a consideration no one would buy any Rolex. There are equal/better quality watches for fractions of the price out there. Rolex does not have anything unique that makes it worth the price that is tangible. Only the intangibles such as the mystique is the reason people buy Rolex watches. So when folks are comparing the Sumo to the Hulk it makes them sound like sour grapes because they can not obtain one or afford one. As far as obtaining from an AD...go to a smaller market and build a relationship with an AD. That is what I did. Took a few weeks but I got one. Smaller markets tend to get similar levels of allocation pieces, just not so many folks vying for them. Nothing wrong with Seiko or Omega...in fact there are pieces from each collection that I own. But making comparisons to Rolex is just an exercise in futility. Removing price from the equation, if you offered someone a blind choice between a similar piece from Rolex, Seiko, or Omega based on tech specs only not sure anyone would choose Rolex. Now lift the veil and add in styling and the brand mystique...only Rolex would be chosen. So bottomline...Sumo great looking watch, great specs... but Mr. Seiko you are no Rolex. |

Interesting take from a new member that touches all the bases of both arrogance and a general lack of knowledge. In a short post he managed to offer both insult and advice. A lot of members here can buy what they want, when they want and at retail or Grey Market prices. It is not typically about the money or availability it is about the watches. Cost is always a factor just like quality build, size, models, etc. The part that I like the most is "Mr. Seiko you are no Rolex." That is the point and until you understand it you will not get a lot of the discussions.

Thanks 1William
As my tag states..FreeSpeech. No intent to insult. I was just pointing out that there waa no point to compare the two watches. Rolex and Seiko are two different products marketed to different target audiences. |

different target audience? Pretty sure all of us here own seiko as well as rolex
I often choose to wear seiko over rolex and buy a seiko over rolex. Case to point, when i was purchasing the watch below, it was a direct comparison to the hulk On topic, i borrowed my mates sumo for a few days when they came out a few weeks ago, fantastic watch for the price, and colour really pops in the sun, they also wear smaller than most 44mm due to the relatively short lug to lug span
