Wifes beautiful 18K Rolex with cuff band and Tudor movement??
My wife has a beauty of a Rolex. Today a watch person opened the case to find out it had a marked Tudor movement. Rolex is proudly printed on the face. The winding crown is Rolex and this watch is probably a 1940's watch.
Question: Has this watch been faked? Did Rolex make these with Tudor movements? Any other info would be appreciated. The back of the case is serial number 17XX. |

If it was a Rolex it would have a Rolex movement. Doesn't look to be old enough from the 40's. Doesn't bode well so far, I'm afraid.

In over 50 years at the bench (1958) I've never seen this model Rolex. I'd like to see the inside of the back, the movement and back of the dial. If the dial feet properly fit the movement then the dial has wrongly been named Rolex. Maybe the dial is genuine and stuck onto the movement! More info/pictures please. Tylden.

Now that I look at it closely, the case and band look pretty new, so it may be a franken watch....but I could be wrong.
