1970's Rolex 1680

Hi everyone,

Looking for some advice, I have seen the below 1680 for sale from the original owner, everything is fine regarding the watch, the history of the watch etc.

However he had the dial changed in the early 80's when it was getting a service due to damage near the 6 marker, I believe this to be the same dial fitted 30 odd years a go.

Just wondering if any of the experts could cast an eye over it to see if this looks like an early 80's dial and corresponds with the rest of the watch?

The owner got his when he was a lot younger and seems to think it was a Red sub, however when the dial needed changing Rolex did not have any and not knowing the value of a red he happily told them to replace it with the current one at the time.

Clasp, bracelet etc should be the original?

It also comes with Rolex service papers from 2007 where it had a service but was left unpolished.

Thanks in advance

Hands have been replaced aswell. Second hand replaced more recently than the rest. Insert looks original albeit with a service pearl. Watch has been heavily polished previously. Thin lug on bottom right. As for being a red, would need to know the serial to see if it's in red range.

Thanks. Serial is 30665**

I know its not commonly asked on here but what is something like this worth based on the parts replaced above? I am hoping to view today and dont want to pay over the top.

Thanks

It's within red range. Edit your post mate and remove some numbers from the serial. You never know whos reading these forums. Value wise Hard to say from pictures without seeing the rest of the watch. Having seen this for sale I'd say the price was fair.

The clasp looks like a newer 93150.
