Need your help on pam270

I am considering a j serial (2007-2008). Since it is one of the earlier panerai made movements, should I be concerned? Thank you in advance.

The P.2003 movement in the 270 is essentially the exact same movement as the P.2002 in the 233 except the addition of automatic winding. Most folks don't realize that the barrels in both movements are identical. Each of the three barrels hold 3.4 days PR thus 10.2 days. Yes I know... Why did they call the 233 8-days then? Who knows but this came directly from an executive at OP and I've verified it by timing my 233.

The 2002 in my 233K has been rock solid so I wouldn't be worried about the 270J movement. There was an issue with a sticking PR fang in some J/Ks but those have mostly been addressed long ago.

No reason to be concerned, but do keep in mind that a service will likely be needed in the near future if it hasn't already been done.
270 looks awesome btw!

Another thing to add, do you know if it has been serviced or not?

I almost prefer watches that haven't been serviced from Panerai. Shows they haven't had any issues. I'd shy away from ones that have been serviced multiple times.

Yes I know that I may be asking for a service cost sooner than later this way....but it does make sense.

Good point Mik. I was told it has never been serviced and polished, so that's good.
