GMT Master Bracelet

New to this forum, long a Rolex owner. Bought mine on R&R from VietNam in 1970.

My GMT Master needs a new bracelet…have been wrestling with this 45 year old model, especially the clasp. It's all stainless, has been "refreshed" a few times by RSC.

Any help finding a replacement bracelet for this Pepsi model would be appreciated.

You should send the bracelet to Michael Young to have it refurbished; he does amazing works and quite reasonably on stainless steel bracelets. It is likely the most cost effective solution and allows retaining originality as well.

Yes, photos please! One option would be to get a new bracelet for your GMT for daily wear, either jubilee or oyster, and keep the original nice and safe. You could also send it to MY for repair/tightening.

Thank you for your responses.

How do I contact Michael Young??

And, please excuse me as I try to "master" forum etiquette and format!

I had Michael Young sort out my 7836 and 93150 (I have my 1675 GMT Master from 1971 on a 93150 bracelet, it's much nicer than the old one) and he did a great job. Recommended.

MY is the way to go, I would much prefer to keep the original bracelet rather than buying new.

Repairing a 1675 bracelet

Thank you all for your replies. Obviously, Michael Young is the way to go. I've gathered his info/instructions and will send the watch band off to him for reconstruction. Once it's returned, I'll get some photos posted.
Again, thank you for your help.

I have pulled my GMT Master bracelet appart to replace the warn pins and tubes the first pin is a very poor spring bar that elongates the hole which requires a redrill.

Michael is the best! You won't believe what he can do for relatively little money and quick turnaround!!

Take some "before" shots of the bracelet prior to sending it out. He does unreal bracelet restorations.

I don't see where you listed you bracelet number or the model of your watch (probably 1675). There's nothing wrong with buying a spare different one on here or the Vintage Rolex Forum while you wait. Here's a few pics of most common options which include the oyster, rivet and jubilee. Of course a simple NATO would work also.

I bought mine in 1971 while on R&R (Hong Kong), too. It's original 7836 bracelet was discarded years ago and it now has a 93150 that was purchased in 1985 and refurbished by Michael Young only recently. I wish I had the original bracelet and am currently looking for another one with the proper parts and date codes, which is not easy. FWIW, the watch is #2.32m with a case back date of "IV 68", purchased Jan. 1971.

If your bracelet is original please help me with some info: What end links are present? If it is original I would strongly advise you to keep it and send it to Michael Young to be refurbished. If not, please sell it to me!!
